Barnes and Vokes up front for Wycombe bloody hell. Add their keeper into the mix and they're heading for League 2.

We'll be lucky to retain one of those. We are heading for a fire sale.

Pope is worth £35 million and we should hold out for that amount.

Rumours are that Cork triggered an extension with yesterdays appearance so there's the one

How about, who’ll be the first play THROUGH the door? Stop being so negative.

There’s no doom and gloom around Turf Moor this morning, disappointment, yes, but also a steely resolve to smack plan B into action!

Not heard that but Cork was trying to get his kids on the pitch for a lap of honour as soon as the whistle went. He was the only player doing that while we stayed. We waited for every player to leave, but i don't know if the players came back out or not.
Along with Tarky applauding all 4 sides of the ground, looked like a sign of both leaving.

Could be wrong like.

What is plan B? I think that’s the question fans rightly would like to know, or have some assurance on, from the owners.

Because there’s already threads on that. This isn’t negative, it’s reality. If you think they’ll all stay, put that…. That’s your steely plan b….. and in time, we’ll see if you were right. Pretty simple.

Apparently they did all come back out afterwards.
We also stayed till they left the field thinking that was it.
Only heard that they had come back out, after hearing it on radio as we were driving home - which judging by the amount of traffic we weren't the only ones

I’m feeling surprisingly positive this morning.

Arguably easier to rebuild in the Championship. Give some of our youth a bit more of a chance, perhaps?

Most reasonable fans accept there’ll be a number of outgoings, as part of a rebuild and cost cutting exercise.

The biggest and most important decision now is who the new manager is. This is number 1 priority, and will really tell the players and fans if we mean business or not.

Pope - West Ham £20m
Pieters - Somewhere in MLS
Cornet - Leeds £17m
Bardsley - Derby County
Barnes - Bristol Rovers
Lennon - Retired
Tarkowski - Newcastle
Stephens - Barrowford Celtic

Cork, Vydra, Mee, Weghorst and McNeil stay.

Cork is a no-brainer for me, perhaps not a starter but he'd be fine for us as a squad player in the Championship.

Thought Vydra would be off but injury?

Weghorst will stick it out until January and reassess.

Mee is a funny one because I don't think he's as likely to sign as some may think. Nottingham Forest earlier in the thread is a good shout but think his age and wage may mean he stays at Burnley, not a bad thing.

Can't see a Premier League club paying more than £15m for McNeil and I think in that case Pace et all will keep him. Although would not be surprised if there's interest from Germany.

Could see Taylor leaving too but not too sure on that.

Vydra, out of contract with an ACL injury, has got to be feeling vulnerable.
Are we under any obligation, contractually or morally to offer him a new deal to cover his rehabilitation and return, hopefully, to first-team football?

Give it two weeks and let the players and agents talk to the club and then we’ll have a clear picture.

I think we would be foolish to offer him a new contract now. Support with his rehab by all means and let him get back to fitness with us. If that turns into a contract offer around January then great, but we can't afford to re-sign injured players.

What’s the point in guessing though? A simpler stay or go would work! But I’ll play along…all guess work mind!

Tarks: United Released
Bardsley: Salford Released
Mee: Resigns on a two year deal with a coaching element
Lennon: Shef Wed released
Barnes: Preston released
Stephens: Rochdale released
Pieters: Shef Wed released
McNeil: Brighton Undisclosed
Cornet: Bournemouth Undisclosed
Vydra: retained on a month to month contract

Bardsley - Derby

Barnes - Plymouth
Stephens - Charlton
Pieters - Utrecht
Brownhill - West Ham £15m
Cornet - Palace £17.5m

Mee, McNeil, Cork all stay as will Weghorst as I don't think he's done enough for other clubs to meet his (presumable?) relegation clause.

Cork as back up is fine, the rest of the CMs can go. Barnes and Vydra need to go, make space for 2 strikers. A rebuild means rebuild, not keep the same not good enough players around and hope things change.

Pope- Fulham 25m
Tarks- Leicester free.
Mee- Championship playoff winners, free. But ideally an extension.
Bardsley- Derby, free, player coach
Lennon- Millwall, free. Outside chance of an extension due to losing other wingers.
Stephens- Bolton
Pieters- possibly a 1 year extension, otherwise Utrecht victory lap
Barnes- Sunderland. Might get an extension would prefer not.
Vydra- 1 year rehab extension, will not play.
McNeil- Palace 12m (We will feel wronged but it will be based on his return this season).
Cornet- Brentford 17.5m release clause
Weghorst- PSV, 9m
Brownhill- West Ham, 15m.
Taylor- Leeds, 10m.
Possibly Roberts- Bournemouth, 7m.

Between OOCs, fire sale demands and PL proven players with time on the clock wanting out of a sinking ship, I'm fully expecting a mass exodus and 2004 rebuild scenario.

If Brownhill is being valued at 15M by Dobo..... , how much are the Brownhill-haters thinking we should pay for a replacement!

Not totally convinced yet Pope will go, too many variables at this stage

If we can keep- Pope, Mee, Vydra, Weghorst, McNeil, Cork & Cornet

Then the rest can go for me

Pieters I like but I think he wants first team football.

Lennon, Barnes, Stephens, Bardsley out

I’ll be amazed if Pope stays.

He’ll be desperate to get to the World Cup, after getting back into the England set up.

He won’t go if he’s in the Championship.

The reality is we literally NEED to sell Pope and Cornet, it's not a question of whether they are willing to stay. We will be actively trying to sell them to pay off the 'significant proportion' of our £65m that has to be done this summer.

On Tarks, The Telegraph has a report this afternoon saying "... But Everton have jumped to the front of the queue for Tarkowski by offering the central defender a contract worth around £90,000-a-week and outlining the ambition of head coach Frank Lampard...."

Also
"...Villa could yet try to trump Everton to his signing by making a firm offer of their own, but Lampard has made the biggest push so far, believing Tarkowski is the perfect profile of player to strengthen his defence.
Tarkowski is understood to be keen to make a decision on his future before he goes on holiday, having spent seven seasons at Burnley where he has consistently been one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

I'm sure we can all agree it's nice to see Everton recovering after their terrible losses caused by Covid.

It's a good thing that Brownhiil is still here and hopefully that's the case come the end of the transfer window. He's going to be one of our best players this season I reckon.

We'll be lucky to retain one of those. We are heading for a fire sale.
Take away the last sentence. Your prediction was very accurate. We did only retain cork services

Pope - Fulham £20m
Tarkowski - Newcastle (Free)
Bardsley - Derby
Lennon - Millwall
Barnes - Plymouth
Stephens - Charlton
Pieters - Utrecht
Brownhill - West Ham £15m
Cornet - Palace £17.5m

Mee, McNeil, Cork all stay as will Weghorst as I don't think he's done enough for other clubs to meet his (presumable?) relegation clause.
This turned out well!!
