So the new owners are no different to the new ones... Or any other owners we've had over the years, which goes against what many are saying on here, that we're only selling because we are in debt and there foreign

bla bla bla they're no different to whatever, the new owners have just deducted £180m from the club to pay for their own seat at the club.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I meant old owners, serves me right for not proof reading
Whatever the reason, players are always sold on relegation, sometimes it's their choice
If you think pope and Collins are only sold because we owe money, then you're living in a world that isn't the real one..... Those players WANT to play at the highest level, now in case you ain't noticed, we're not at that level anymore.... And before you ask the question, the answer is Garlick and Co.

Nothing to do with where they are from but it is apparent that we are not in as healthy a position financially as we were last time we went down.

Get over it, it's happened. Either accept it and move onto supporting the team, or move on.

That you think Championship Burnley could be signing the likes of Sergio Gomez, Yari Verschaeren, Joshua Zirkzee and Sebastian Szymanski. Players that would have been outside shots at best for Premiership Burnley managed by Kompany.
And that you think that they would be available for £5 - 10m.
Take your pick.

This message board is just full of posters more interested in getting one up-man-ship against each other it’s pathetic.
I’m sure this post will get ripped by the usual suspects. Saying don’t bother coming on etc etc. I just feel it’s a shame as it used to be quite informative and fun. Now it’s just toxic. I feel for the moderators
So on that not I bid you farewell

Yari is a young god, didn't have the best end to last year, was really in and out.Mattster wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 3:18 pmThat you think Championship Burnley could be signing the likes of Sergio Gomez, Yari Verschaeren, Joshua Zirkzee and Sebastian Szymanski. Gomez is the one who's probably the most ambitious on the list, given his consistency at left back last season, I still see him as more of a midfielder though. Transfrmarket.com has his value at £9M. 1 year after Anderlecht paid £2m.
Szymanski's agent revealed he was close to signing for Hertha, they scraped past Hamburg in the relegation playoff. 6 months on, maybe his value has recently rocketed with the internationals, I'd be surprised if he went considerably over £10m being a relatively unknown from Russia.
Zirkzee has 1 year left at Bayern, they don't want him, 8 million euros was the quoted fee I read.

Does anyone have an image of this? I’m not on Twitter so imagine I can’t see ‘likes’.
Understand RV’s point on this. There was once a time where I’d have been hard pushed to decide who I’d prefer to sign from Norwich - Cantwell or Buendia. I’m a massive Buesndia fan too, but there was a certain dynamism that Cantwell had. For a low fee I’d 100% back VK to turn his career around.

The only thing I found was a Rovers fan who looks like the lowest of society, tweeting: "Todd Cantwell hates Burnley"NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 3:31 pmDoes anyone have an image of this? I’m not on Twitter so imagine I can’t see ‘likes’.

Love the quoting of transfermarkt values. Collins is valued at £9m on there, for example. Verschaeren and Szymanski at £12m too so using that as a basis for your valuations is a bit of an inconsistency.KRBFC wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 3:27 pmYari is a young god, didn't have the best end to last year, was really in and out.

But regardless of what fees they go for (I reckon most go for over £10m) they are not even remotely realistic options for Burnley in the Championship.

He spent 6 years in Man City & Liverpool academies. A decent agent would have settled his status with the looming prospect of Brexit.Claretnick wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 3:25 pmWould a work permit be an issue for this lad, don't think he has won a full international cap
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Szymanski now after the recent internationals, probably not. I'm not convinced Anderlecht players are wildly out of our reach and unrealistic. I don't think Gomez will go for much over £10m. Yari is interesting, loved him since owning him on SoRare, his form fell off a cliff last year though. Zirkzee will certainly go under the £10m mark.Mattster wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 3:37 pmLove the quoting of transfermarkt values. Collins is valued at £9m on there, for example. Pope 25
Cornet 17.5
Vw 10
McNeil 15
90+ Million so even after the debt is paid off it hardly leaves us short of money
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
90 million doesn't cover the debt, Chester said we owe £48m to Garlick plus the £50m to MSD. Chester also said a large sum is due to be paid to Garlick in the coming weeks. Collins sale should cover the first instalment to Garlick and the rest.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
maybe the Collins sale doesn't cover the first Garlick instalment actually if Stoke have a sell on %, plus we probably still owe them £10m on the fee.

Wow, the odd few on here could start an argument in a paper bag! Can we please try to keep on topic, and if we need pi$$ing contest maybe create another thread to set a benchmark rather than in here.

Thanks both for the info sounds like when Michael Keane first came on loan, doesn’t sound like they will sell only loan?RVclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 7:45 pmSeen him for the England under 21s recently and he looked very composed, was actually the skipper too. A Rovers supporting mate said he’s a very good player, they had him on loan the season before last. Definitely not a youth player and will likely be a regular starter if City are loaning him.

Looks fair, would keep Collins at all costs, if Ben White is £50m he can’t be too far behind.
Hope we can keep Cornet too.

I think Cornet will stat
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I’d be very surprised. Firstly a PL club will fancy him and he’s got a low release clause considering, secondly there’s not a chance he is up to the Championship. It was hard to get him playing 90 mins in the PL let alone with 8 more games and away to Rotherham on a Tuesday night. I was a big MC fan last season but I’ll be happy to see him moved on (get our transfer debt to Lyon paid off and use any excess funds for recruitment).
