Yes though it does say he’s been training to improve his playing out from the back, being schooled at Arsenal I guess it’s impossible not to be comfortable.

"By his own admission Daniel Ballard is more of an old-fashioned centre back. He is excellent in the air, strong in the tackle and positionally superb. When he's trained with Arsenal he's been asked to do more playing out from the back and is getting better at it for sure, but his strengths lie in the more traditional attributes you'd associate with a centre back.

I said when Cork mentioned looking forward to working with him in his interview after extending his deal, I have a feeling we will here this quite a lot in the future. No doubt Kompany is a big pull for the club especially for younger players.
