True but there have been a few stories on Twine. As you say Ballard came out of the blue which hopefully bodes well for other signings that haven’t been mentioned.mybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 9:06 pmNot one reported on Ballard interest until the Arsenal blogger said fee agreed. No interest quoted or anything, anywhere.

I literally only read this thread now to watch folk argue with each other over Twitter accounts, I really hope most of these aren’t responsible adults and just keen young fans

Steamedpluto44
He's apparently the BBC journalist for Hull City
I'm going to hazard a guess here, and I reckon Brad Jones is more of a journalist than this lad

Steamedpluto works for the beeb haha.
Just had a look two absolute berks, 1 claiming they spoke to Twine, although they haven't "quoted" the chat or run a story on it.
Even Hull fans telling them to shut up.

Intrigued by this rumoured clause on the Ballard deal:
“The player is scheduled to have his medical, with the player valued so highly by his current club, they could insist on a clause where they could match any potential bids in future from other clubs should Ballard impress with the Clarets.”
I’ve heard of buy back clauses, but surely any club could match a bid? Why does it need a specific clause?

I suspect it will mean they are first to be informed of any bids and we can’t make them outbid yet they still get permission to talk to the player.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 11:20 pmIntrigued by this rumoured clause on the Ballard deal:

I think we will see more of this with the young players we might bring in from big clubs. Deals weighted in their favour.

My interpretation is that we would have to inform Arsenal if we had accepted an offer from another club so they were given the opportunity to match it or decline.

It would be good to have another NornIron lad to follow the many fine fellow countrymen who’ve played for us - Willie Irvine, Billy Hamilton…

What’s a matching sale price clause?

it's when Man United offer us 70 million for him in 2 seasons we have to tell Arsenal so they can bid 70 million and 1 pence if they so choose
assuming they want to offer more that is

Andy Jones talks about this on the turfcast discussion he did yesterday
https://youtu.be/lXeeo8PN3Ok
Basically says that if we come to sell him for £10m then Arsenal have the right to match the offer to get him back.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Looking likely he’s linked to the fraud account BradJonesJourno. If we’d had a bid accepted for Twine yesterday early afternoon, there would undoubtedly have been something reliable to substantiate it throughout the day. Bloody hell RV you're obsessed and way off the mark with your assumptions BUT it's entertainment and will no doubt put you in good stead in becoming the private detective you so obviously long to be. I've just relayed information I was given from some one I consider a very reliable source mentioning he'd turned Hull down and other than us Hull, Sheff Utd that Rangers were the other team with an interest but ours was the one he went for due to Kompany. IF it doesn't come to fruition I'll hold my hands up as I was lead to believe it was likely in the next 48hrs . So can I suggest just go have a lovely day out (away from the message board perhaps ) and let's chat without jumping to conclusions when things come to light ................OR not

Google translate is struggling with this one but it looks like we have submitted a loan offer with an obligation to buy him for 3.5m.

Did I read someone saying Twine is going to Hull? That sounds a strange move. Surely if it's between us and Hull, they come to us.

Yes, hard to translate. In part seems to be complaining we were offered more flexible terms than Besiktas, making it sound like a done deal, but saying at the end “Standard Liege’s response is awaited”.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 7:36 amGoogle translate is struggling with this one but it looks like we have submitted a loan offer with an obligation to buy him for 3.5m.

Anyway, we must be annoying the Besiktas fans this summer given Weghorst turned them down and we’re now trying to nab their other striker option. Bloody Burnley

As a side note just seen Don's looking to bring in a striker called Dom Telford from Newport, 25 goals in 30 games.

Dom Telford is an ex Clitheroe Wolves player born in Burnley. He was handing out trophies to the kids only a week or two ago. If he helps us buy Twine he might become a Burnley legend after all!
