Lancaster thank you very much sir , let's just see Twine sign in first 🤞
No problem!

I was wrong (which is rare on here ;) )

Always been surprised Cork doesn't score more, dunno if he was limited by the manager in the runs allowed into the box but he has that sweet timing of arrival in his locker and can header a ball.
Scored at a better rate for us than for Southampton or Swansea so you'd be hard pressed to blame that on Dyche.

And that's just in his second spell, his 3 in 40 in 2010/11 was his best every goalscoring season.

Vydra has scored 20+ Championship goals in a season twice in his career, tbf. Not bad for someone who can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

wasn't a dig at Dyche, just an observation of the role maybe Cork was asked to play. When you see the goal he scored at Watford, it's surprising he doesn't get more.

I think Vydra would've been really effective for us behind a proven goalscorer with pace/mobility, like Ings/Vydra. Vydra cant hit a cows arse with a banjo but he certainly makes things happen in the final 3rd.
He won the Golden Boot the last time he was in the Championship. He already is a proven goalscorer.

that was donkeys ago though, can't say I have much confidence in him scoring when 1v1 with the goalkeeper in a Burnley shirt.

5 years ago in football is an incredibly long time, 21 goals with 6 of them penalties. A really low number for golden boot.

Ah, the classic 'penalties don't count' argument. Vydra's finishing isn't the best but his record in the Championship is very good. Whether he gets back to his best at 30 after a serious injury is up for debate, but his record in that league demands respect.

Vydra would be a very good option in the Championship. He’d score, and importantly help create, plenty. Shame he’s out until the new year and is yet to sign a new contract though…

So we'd have no chance, as I said.

Makes you appreciate how good Wood was for us.

Pretty sure his scoring stats in the prem for us are better thanks Vydras scoring stats in the championship.

Vydra scored 26 or whatever goals as a 10 not a 9

Incidentally, one of our best ever performances under Dyche at home against Bournemouth he played a bit deeper more like a 10 (4-2-3-1) setup and we won 4-0, only to be dropped after an average 60 mins against Cardiff away the next game…

12/13 (Watford) 20 in 41 apps
14/15 (Watford) 16 in 42 apps
15/16 (Reading) 3 in 31 apps
16/17 (Derby) 5 in 33 apps
17/18 (Derby) 21 in 42 apps

Going back a long long time for those figures, off the back of an ACL, after 4 years here and scoring 8 league goals (albeit long spells without given a sniff). I wouldn't say he's an out and out goalscorer, certainly capable of being effective though in more ways than just goals, his creativity would be huge behind a proven goalscorer. I see Vydra as more of an attacking midfielder, like he was at Derby not an out and out striker.

How did Derby set up when he was more of an attacking midfielder?

4231 I'm pretty sure with Vydra central of the 3. Nugent or Winnall was the striker

All feels very underwhelming

We keep being linked with right sided centre backs. It's the left side needs filling at the minute.

He also says still pressing ahead with THB.

Does this suggest Roberts could be sold? I believe Egan Riley plays mostly at RB.

Just seen his comment.

When he set up his pay site he said it would help him as he would no longer have to wait until Sunday to reveal his exclusives.

He has now claimed he was saving the Egan Riley news until Sunday which is why he hadn't mentioned it :D

We've kicked the can down the road for years now and unfortunately the squad now needs major surgery We should have signed one or two younger players each window and brought them through carefully but we've little choice now but to hope it all works out

Think if it is us it must be for his versatility. Given the other CB signings we are supposedly about to make I would guess at him being signed to play RB. He came on in this position for Man City in a game towards the end of the season. It was only a short cameo at the end of the game but he appeared to be very composed and I thought at the time he looked a talent.

Look I think it’s highly likely tbh. But I’m more than happy with the quality we are after as replacements. If it means bringing in 30m for Collins which allows for 1. Paying some debts 2. More signings like these im all for it.

Had to Google him, he's a tall lad ain't he 6'3.Only 19 so still raw, but he has played at junior levels for England.

All those CB links do make me wonder whether Collins is on his way.

Maybe selling Nick means we need to play 6 CBs.
We shouldn't concede many, but we need a scorer.

We've kicked the can down the road for years now and unfortunately the squad now needs major surgery We should have signed one or two younger players each window and brought them through carefully but we've little choice now but to hope it all works out
Totally agree. This major overhaul was always going to have to happen eventually.

All will become clear but we are only solving issues if they’re permanent or view to a permanent signing deals.

Not really.

A good use of loan markets every year is worthy.

He’s also confirmed we could be losing Collins
Not loving that AT ALL

🤮🤮🤮

There isn’t a single one of these City prospects I’d want in the team next year over Collins.

If we sign a load of 19 yo’s for CB I think we’ll struggle to go up, however many decent attacking players we sign.

Nixon said ‘want to… but it’s all a bit slippery with this one’ when asked if we are closing to getting Twine.
Also said we were in the race for Wallace not long before he was announced.

We certainly will need a 20+ striker, and with the greatest will in the world none of of Barnes, Jay or Vydra will hit that number, Cornet might but I expect him to leave, as will Weghorst in all likelihood.

However strikers that can net 20+ a season cost big bucks generally..
And promotion means big buck's
