Not really.
A good use of loan markets every year is worthy.
I’m not opposed to loans - in moderation. I don’t really see them as solving a problem, more putting a plaster over it / providing a temporary fix.
Most will likely be starters (not much point otherwise) and unless we are purchasing youngsters in their positions to ultimately bring through, the can is still being kicked.
I don’t mean that to sound negative - I’ve thought that we should use the loan market much more than we have done in recent years.

IF we lose Collins (on the back of Mee and Tarks walking, selling Pope) and sign a lad on loan who's made 1 appearance - against Wycombe in the League Cup - and someone tries to spin this as anything other than a fire sale and race to the bottom.. well, I'll have to sort of respect it.

He’s also confirmed we could be losing Collins
In what way is his saying we could lose a third centre back confirming anything?

I agree. I can understand selling players who’ve been here a while or are older and careers have obviously above Championship level (Weghorst, Cornet), not so much last summers signings!
And certainly not replacing them with loans. Don’t like that at all.

Started against Sporting Lisbon in the champs league and was praised by Pep for his performance. Also came on against Newcastle in the Prem so City obviously rate with him being 19 and the amount of players they have at their disposal. For the length of the championship season the fact he can play a number of positions will also be a big plus.
We have plenty of experience in the squad as it is and this is the only defender that looks close to signing that doesn't have substantial experience in the championship. Both THB and Ballard do and have performed well.
I'm really hoping we do keep Collins though and we aren't having to make these signing to replace him as well as Mee and Tarky. If we were able to keep Collins and his contribution helps us get promoted we could sell him for a much larger fee next season. Genuinely believe keeping him would be a massive step in helping us go back up.

Nixon saying Twine is done, 5m, Leicester were the other team he’d been referring to.

Yep! and that's why we need a goal scorer, to turn those tight games into wins instead of draws.

Fair play. And apologies to Louie. Problem is there’s that many people on here who post ITK stuff like last week THB had ‘definitely signed’ according to some. Then you’ve got the likes of BradJonesJourno characters knocking around.
Anyway - absolutely delighted with this signing. I pray we keep McNeil as Twine and McNeil in between the lines will rip it up.

So at the moment, it's looking like these players arriving over the weekend / early next week:
Daniel Ballard
Scott Twine
CJ Egan Riley
Taylor Harwood-Bellis

Can he bring that Liam Delap in too... could be the answer to the '20+ goalscorer required' discussion.
Brighton being linked with him in 'the mail' on loan but part of the Cucurella deal with the Spaniard going to City.
Who knows though?

Interesting. Though I did see Weghorst reluctant to go there as he wanted Bundesliga?
No links to Muleka from UK press yet either.

Why so cheap
Plays for England U-19's, played 3 times for them last season including in the Champions League.
Sounds mental that, in a good way, obviously. I assume City will have a buy-back clause in there like they did the keeper who went to Southampton.
