Think Karl Robinsons interview said it all regards our transfer policy when he used the word 'aggressive' in our chase of McNally whilst still saying we were respectful of their demands. This is a new Burnley regards chasing targets

I think the difference is, outside of matchday Dyche wasn't a football man. He freely admitted that he didn't have an interest in the game outside of the job. I don't think that is something that players who are passionate about the game want to hear.
Also doesn't help with building contacts and knowledge.

That's just not true is it? Revisit the high performance podcast, I am pretty sure he talks about how all encompassing football is, and how even when he was at home he was watching games. I can't have the revision of history, that Sean Dyche didn't have an interest in football - it is utter nonsense.

Revisionism of Dyche's time in charge is absolutely rife amongst our fans atm, really disappointing to see.

Chelsea could do worse than having Cornet as a back up left wing back. Interesting one.

Makes a lot of sense to me. He would probably play more advanced as Chelsea’s LWB than he would as our lm last season

Yes correct. It was notable when Chilwell got injured, Chelsea really lost their attacking threat on the left - Chilwell was often making runs beyond the strikers.

That reads very much to me as an agent trying to ramp up a little interest in a client who he expected to be far more in demand than he is proving to be

Don’t Chelsea prefer their players to have the ability to go past opponents?

Cornet is nowhere near good enough to play for Chelsea.

Absolutely agree. IMO I think he's been a poor signing and I for one won't lose any sleep should he leave.

Some of the prospects we have/are/about to sign sounds exciting.
Main thing is how they work as a team. We’ll soon see if VK has made the right choices, but there’s some talent in there.

Spectacular goals aplenty early on but some awful performances towards the end of the season.

Didn’t help that he was being played out of position with the ball constantly flying over / to his head

I don't think he ever recaptured his early form after returning from the African Cup

I got hammered on here during last season for suggesting Cornet is just not tough enough, physically or mentally for the Premier League, or indeed English football.

Nothing I’ve seen has changed my opinion.

Some great goals yes, but minimal contributions and a multitude of niggles and knocks regularly keep him out of the side..

I'm not sure what his position is to be honest - he is very definitely neither a winger nor a striker

In the modern game he’s an advanced winger / inside forward similar to how Salah / Mane operate at Liverpool - albeit on a completely different level, I’m purely talking positionally.

That didn't help, he clearly wasn't a striker. But he also failed to impact games from the wing, so with the lack of pace, running in behind and general firepower from our forwards it's not a surprise he was stuck up front. I like Cornet, but technically he is nowhere near what Chelsea will be looking for.

He struggled physically and didn't come back strongly after the AFCON but it's a bit harsh criticising Cornet in the context of, well, all the other players.

Signed for a manager who probably didn't want him whose system doesn't fit him in and he still scored 1 less goal than all the centre forwards combined and more goals than all the other midfielders combined.

There's a tweet from BBC Radio Manchester commentator Mike Minay saying Ben Mee is speaking to "a number of Premier League clubs"

I believe Ben has worked with him on a City game before but not 100%.

Yes very poor... Finishing the top scorer at the club and scoring a third of our goals was very poor! Good riddance to him.

I don't think we played any sort of system that got the best out of Cornet. IF he stays and plays in what will be a completely new look team I think he could flourish - the only issue for me is he is made of glass and it's tough in the Championship

I wouldn't go that far. Most fans don't do social media and don't post on here. I have no doubt the vast majority are appreciative of what a great job Dyche did and always will be. Don't let the fact that the message board gives a handful of keyboard warriors the chance to spout off fool you into thinking their views are widely held.

Also, when people say SD didn't adapt is it actually possible to stay in the PL for as long as we did, on our budget without adapting?

I can't see how you can stay in the top flight for six seasons without watching how other clubs do things and changing things accordingly.

Did Mee decide not to sign a contract offered to him by Burnley, or did Pace and Ko decide not to offer him one?

He was certainly in talks over a new deal. He wanted to finish his career at Burnley in February..

That was when we were in the Premier League though so not sure whether it was always about him wanting to stay provided we stayed up.

However, I don't think he would suit Kompany's style of play, so wondered whether the club just decided not to offer him a contract.

Also wondered whether the contract offer had been pulled. Didn’t his relative put something on social media confirming he was staying at Burnley before the season finished?

There was something from I think his uncle (no idea if that's true) on Twitter suggesting he'll be staying, with phrases such as (from what I remember) "We go again next season" - suggesting Mee was going to stay.
