An important point to make here.
Will be allowed to play in hooped socks ?
I know Dyche didn't like them at all, but I think it's fair to say that a lot of fans like them.
Any chance d'yer reckon ?

Yes please. And no gambling sponsor, white shorts, and change the badge back.

I think Dyche was a fan of the blue shorts and socks at home also. Think we’ve had them for three seasons under him and the European home games.

I don’t know about that but did know about the socks. But the club have pushed different coloured socks & shorts each year to help retail sales.

Re: An important point to make here.
For everyone who wants to change the badge back there’s someone who wants to keep the current one.
I read today that Crystal Palace have ditched the gambling ad on their shirt for next season.
The Government white paper this week was proposing banning gambling ads on shirts in the Premier League while astonishingly ignoring the ads on LED boards.

TBF no-one wears LED boards while they are out and about.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 4:05 pmFor everyone who wants to change the badge back there’s someone who wants to keep the current one.

The boards are arguably a more difficult issue as legalities around general advertising is probably less easy to deal with that plain ol sponsorship.

Leave the badge as it is, I like it. The old one (previous one) was too complicated.

I think if they’re trying to move the club in a different direction and give the club a new image, I think they’ll be looking to create a new badge or reinvent it.
Re: An important point to make here.
If we were to change the badge, I’d rather something completely new rather than going back to the old one. I’m with Dark Cloud, the old one was overly busy.
I’d much prefer a modern minimal badge that would become easily identifiable as being Burnley.

Yeah can see them trying to make a ‘minimalist’ version, akin to what Arsenal, City & Liverpool have done
Re: An important point to make here.
I agree although I'd prefer it to be more like the old one than the current one.

Did Dyche ever say why he didn't like them out of interest?

Ah the “Tom hark” remember it well.
Although I think we should mix it up a bit and play some skindred when we score and get the crowd to do the Newport helicopter.
Very American aswell.
Re: An important point to make here.
CT have you heard anything regarding this year's home kit? I know it's due for release in a couple of weeks but last I'd heard last summer was that it was a breakaway from the traditional claret we blue sleeves? (Agreed before Pace I believe before people blame him haha)

Well it's pretty clear to me now where things have gone wrong (with apologies to Golden Gordon and Barnstonethwaite Utd), we've been wearing the wrong socks!!!

Re: An important point to make here.
Fan as I was that's such a weird little bugbear.
I for one would be happy to see us experiment with different kit designs regularly. Might be the only person alive who liked Chelsea's 2019-20 kit with the weird patterning, and I liked our classic 91-93 printer running out of ink kit. Loved the 97-98 quarters.
Mixing the kits up year on year keeps you visually distinctive and incentivises buying new kits. But probably less good for brand continuity in the PL.

Re: An important point to make here.
Dyche was fussy on kits but nothing like as much as Steve Cotterill or Stan who would only want white socks.spt_claret wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 6:07 pmFan as I was that's such a weird little bugbear.

the Singing Ringing Tree. After all, you can clearly see The Turf from up there.
Anyone able to mock one up ?

50th anniversary of the 72/73 title winning season
Maybe a replica of that classic (Umbro?) kit
White socks but with hoops around the top - win/win

The cotton bobbin/shuttle simply has to be on a Burnley badge. I like the hand too.
