it doesn't for most. Ings and Trippier are the two exceptions that spring to mind

Re: Watford release Gray.
Arfield? he'd probably consider he's gone onto better things with Rangers, not least their recent EL final, but yes there isn't many who moved on and furthered their careers after leaving us, their bank balances well that's another matter.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 8:26 pmit doesn't for most. Michael Keane has done all right. Made a shed load of cash, more England caps and will be playing in the EPL next season.

It’s a knocking bet that if he signs for another Championship club, he’ll score against us…

John Connelly League winners medal at Man U
Andy Lochead played in a cup final for Leicester and League Cup final with Villa
Ricky Holden? and Chris Someone had a decent career at Southampton after leaving Burnley in the early 70s
Wasn't Steve Bruce on Burnleys books as a youngster?

Re: Watford release Gray.
Stats suggest he wasn't for Burnley. Whatever talent he did or didn't have, he (and Burnley) made the very best use of in the two years he was at the club. A similar signing in the next few weeks would be very welcome indeed

I'll never become the sort of football fan who says a player is "crap" just because he decides to leave us
Won the championship golden boot, integral part of the side that won the championship, and scored a hattrick in the premier league and looked more than fairly decent
We got good money for him as well

At £1.8m per goal though, Watford may not think so
Re: Watford release Gray.
Yeah very good for us always thought he was better finishing instinctively rather than having time to think about a chance.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 8:46 amThat clip is hilarious, nearly hit the moon with that. Good player for us.

Re: Watford release Gray.
Gray was great for us for the most part.
Always thought he had the ability to frighten the life out of opposition defenders and recall him doing just that on several occasions, particularly in the Championship.

Re: Watford release Gray.
He’d be a better proposition than some of our other striking options.

Re: Watford release Gray.
10 goals in 28 games for QPR and didn't always start, not bad really.
He will be a good free transfer for somebody for sure. I like the shout of Luton, can see that happening as he had a great time there before and obviously lives locally.

Re: Watford release Gray.
Him and Barton were inspired signings that both made a very significant contribution to us winning the Championship, in some style. Vokes was the perfect foil for Gray. Sadly he went downhill after about 6 months at Watford. He was a natural poacher but his ball control and possession were below what was requiredagreenwood wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 9:03 amGray was great for us for the most part.

Loved Gray in that Championship winning season, easily my favourite squad since I've started following anyway.

Re: Watford release Gray.
He was amazing for us but I still think he's chasing one of his first touches.
Re: Watford release Gray.
Disrespectful comment about someone who's goals literally carried the side to promotion at times, I remember away at Bolton we were 2nd best all afternoon, 2 lethal Gray goals won us the 3 points.
Re: Watford release Gray.
I would offer him a deal in the Championship. I think he needs the right manager to get the best out of him. I accept he has a poor first touch, however he probably still has that vital pace over the first few yards and certainly knows where the net is.
The likes of Andre are the only sort of players we will be able to attract next season and possibly a few loan signings if Vincent is to become the new gaffer.

Re: Watford release Gray.
Yet you never credit Wood for his goals firing us into Europe and keeping us up for so long. In fact you slander him quite frequently.
Re: Watford release Gray.
He was great for us, enjoyed watching him. Championship Player of the Year.

Re: Watford release Gray.
Fantastic for us in the Championship and really made us exciting to watch. Quite a bit out of his depth in the Premier League unfortunately, and we sold him at just the right time.

Just being realistic. It is perhaps good that you are optimistic. Usually ends in disappointment though. I’m listening to the Doors at presentBlakesboots wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 6:40 pmChrist on a bike!

My lack of respect isn’t football related, it relates to some opinions of his on which I differ, and I’ve no idea who his girlfriend is.
I wasn’t at Spurs. What happened?
