Turf Moor: Fans banned after seats and bottles thrown
Turf Moor: Fans banned after seats and bottles thrown
Seems some supporters have been banned because of trouble at the home game against Arsenal in September.

Each of them pathetic and deserves to be banned, but my God imagine being the 57 year old there. Embarrassing.

No excusing the behaviour of the younger fans, but imagine being nearly 60 and getting banned from going to football games because you’re a massive nobhead.

Couldn't be easier for the Police.
Start off with 2200 names on the Arsenal data base who bought tickets. Discount any women, children or oaps as the photos they released didn't show any.
Down to 1300?
Start cross referencing names with seats at the divide first and make there way back.
Probably a days work.

Re: Turf Moor: Fans banned after seats and bottles thrown
Exactly my thoughts. Would they still be looking if an Arsenal fan had killed someone throwing a seat? I'm pretty sure they'd have been identified and lifted very quickly.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 11:31 pmWinds me up.

It's perfectly correct the Burnley fans being convicted and banned but it certainly isn't right when one set of fans seemingly gets away with their equal participation in the disorder. It sends out the message that you can come to Burnley and participate in violent disorder and get away with it. That is two major incidents now where justice has only been dished out to the Burnley fans. Heard little on whether the Hannover fans were identified or arrested and they were clearly the instigators in that unrest.

I'm sure once they've tracked the Hanover lads down they'll move onto the Arsenal fans. Seriously, how hard would it be to give Arsenal the CCTV images of their fans? Social media would almost do the job for them.

Re: Turf Moor: Fans banned after seats and bottles thrown
Apparently the investigation into the Hannover fans is still ongoing, according to the Twitter account of BFC Police last time I engaged with them. So that is a live investigation that has been running for some 5 years. I said at the time no Hannover fans will be charged and when the Police requested footage from people in the ground, it would only be used against Burnley fans. I was told at the time and i quote "you are posting absolute b******s about the Police re the Hannover game. I can't say what i know but your comments are so wide of the mark it's ridiculous".Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 11:10 pmThe search for the Arsenal fans is ongoing.......so they say.
5 years on, no Hannover fans have been charged and the only people who were arrested following the request for footage were Burnley fans......

The minute Hannover fans were waved off at the airport there was never going to be a single one charged.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 8:21 amApparently the investigation into the Hannover fans is still ongoing, according to the Twitter account of BFC Police last time I engaged with them. Father and son combo amongst those convicted of the Miners trouble (I know the father going back 35 years or more) and i think you have the same with the Arsenal trouble - the 57 yo and a 20 yo both with the same surname.Claretforever wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 8:27 amDidn’t the same thing happen with the Sheffield Wednesday fans in the Miners too?

Well, maybe some of you should make a case to the IOPC, if you truly believe that our own yobs are being victimised by the police, instead of wibbling on a message board. Nope, thought not.

I don't think anybody is trying to excuse behaviour. What people are concerned about is a very apparent lack of consistency in applying the law.Billy Balfour wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 9:06 amIt's a bit pathetic trying to excuse this kind of crap from our own yobs by saying 'but, but, what about them?'.

You know, maybe it's easier to find out who they are. We are a small town - the police stick a photo online and everyone knows who they are, and they are quickly identified.

Re: Turf Moor: Fans banned after seats and bottles thrown
Anyway, like I said. There is no conspiracy. If you believe there is, then why were the Turf Hotel Newcastle hooligans brought to justice? They were quickly identified by their own. Newcastle might be a city, but everyone up there knows 'who is who' when it comes to stuff like this. Publish CCTV images in the local online newspaper and watch the names roll in.

Well I suppose no non-season ticket holders in the CFS will continue into next season.

I am curious as I don't sit in the CF stand, but have all the wooden seats in the home section been replaced with plastic seats ? reason for the question is the missiles being thrown were wooden seats

Re: Turf Moor: Fans banned after seats and bottles thrown
I think the police put that for effect. Them wooden seats way a ton and wouldn't be able to thrown far at all, but if Hercules did throw one and it hit someone, which is likely in a packed crowd. Then they would require medical attention.
It was plastic bottles mainly that I saw from the blogger who was videoing from the Burnley section, he got hit in the face with a plastic bottle thrown from the Arsenal section while filming.

Re: Turf Moor: Fans banned after seats and bottles thrown
I think it had something to do with our 2018/19 Europa League games.
If we'd gotten into the groups, all the wooden seats would have had to be replaced, but as we'd only got in the play-offs only the seats in the away end had to be. Could be wrong though.

I think they just bought an initial 2400 or so, when they didn't need to buy the rest they just swapped the away seats and replaced a few in the lower longside with any left over.MiltonKeynesClaret93 wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 2:57 pmI think it had something to do with our 2018/19 Europa League games.

We didn’t have to replace any of the wooden seats but would have done had we beaten Olympiacos. The wooden seats were replaced in the away end in the following summer.MiltonKeynesClaret93 wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 2:57 pmI think it had something to do with our 2018/19 Europa League games.

They've all been given counselling and their names put on the seats in the away end.
