Good to see us running our own version of the CEE cup, and frankly expanding on it.
Can't hurt to have kids and coaches going back to these clubs and commenting positively about our facilities

Will this be the houseparty where no one turns up?
Re: Clarets Academy Cup - free entry tomorrrow
Does anyone know what time the games start on each day?
It only mentions on the club website that the final on Monday kicks off at 3.30pm.

I went down this afternoon foe an hour and it looked a well organised event. Plenty of different teams from all over.
3 games on at once, football things to do for kids. Food stalls. Aiscout app stuff. Looked like a gym with all the technical built in.
We had a quick look round the media centre but not allowed to go over the river to the main training centre.

So was it all being played on the side before going over the bridge.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 4:18 pm

Yeah. 2 pitches on the grass, side to side rather than the full size pitch.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 4:22 pmSo was it all being played on the side before going over the bridge.

The cabbage patch is the car park now I think and then the 3G pitch.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 4:27 pmYeah. 2 pitches on the grass, side to side rather than the full size pitch.

I went down, timed it impeccably. 15 minutes before the hours break .
Will be back tomorrow for the afternoon schedule.
Some of the foreign fans make it a good atmosphere.
Spent 3 days of a holiday in Santa Ponsa watching a similar kind of competition, I can imagine it being an absolutely brilliant experience for all the players involved.

I went down with my kids for a couple of hours today (after bumping into Birmingham, Chelsea and some foreign kids/coaches last night at the Holiday Inn.)
A really good setup... we watched Burnley v Sparta Prague for a while, and Rangers v Liverpool.
We had a chat with the AI Scout guys in the lab (really impressive) and then my lad went through the drills and BFC trial processes with the lads runnig it. Really good, and the results are certainly interesting!
I'd definitely recommend going down for an hour, tomorrow.
We drove up there - they directed us to the far car park, on the training ground side. A minibus brought us back, and then took us back to the car. (And gave us all BFC bottles of water, nice touch.) 10/10.

I saw this on Twitter, seems to be a lot of big clubs there. I'm surprised it hasn't had a bit more attention.

Good to read something positive regarding the club, and even just being able to organise such an event should be a big boost to all connected with BFC.
