Under the Cosh

Post by Raconteur » Wed Jun 01, 2022 5:53 pm

Apologies if already posted, but the above mentioned is a great watch if you get the chance.

Interviews with ex pro's and few featuring Burnley.
Robbie Blake to start with

Some fantastic episodes on there. Little, Chadwick, Orr etc are all good too. The old school Forest players ones are the best - Kevin Campbell in particular.

Very good podcast

I’ve started to listen to open goal, mainly
The ex Burnley players.
Open goal is no where near as good as under the cosh but still interesting.

Steven Fletcher comes across well, as does Charlie Austin. Kevin MacDonald is interesting and very apologetic about the Man City incident

Kyle Lafferty (and I’m not just saying this) comes across as thick as pig sh*t and really boring

Love the bit Robbie said about having a KFC before the Man U game when he scored that wonder goal and having a KFC on the way home to Harrogate =D

Undr the Cosh is brilliant, not much a fan of the host but Brown and Parkin, particularly Parkin, are really good on the show. So many great episodes it is difficult to choose a favourite but some of the recommended are:

Geoff Horsfield
Paddy Kenny
Alan Rogers
Glen Little
Jon Otsemobor
Luke Steele
Ronnie Moore
Matt Le Tissier
David Dunn
Steve Howey (his story about Newcastle training being 1-0 down to no one is a belter!)
Matt Kilgallon
Si Ferry (Paolo Di Canio stories at Swindon and Thomas Gravesen at Celtic)

A few listed there and there are many others, would recommend to anyone to have a listen.

I listen to this a lot, and do enjoy it, but listening to Parkin’s attitude, as well as guests like Lonergen and hearing stories of Gregan, it’s not hard to see why PNE are Preston never ever…. Most of them have rotten attitudes and a low moral code.

Just finished the Bradley Orr episodes. He talks a bit about his time with us (Stan butting David May, mainly) and a lot about his time down the road where he was treated harshly by the fans. Actually ended up feeling a bit sorry for Agent Kean with the way some of their players were behaving, it's unbelievable.

Currently on the Steve Howey one and laughing out loud at the Gazza story where he gets the physio to drive his car, then reports it stolen

The Si Ferry podcast had me crying with laughter at stories about Di Canio and Thomas Gravesen.

Recently found this podcast, very good. Parkin and Brown are good, not a fan of the 3rd bloke? is he an ex player too?

He is a TV director and comedy writer apparently, I agree with you not keen on him at all.

Him and Chris Brown started the podcast originally and Parkin was their first guest and stayed with them to co-host as well.

Listen to the show on Podcast. The Mark Crossley- Sh+€#ouse one is Brilliant- Brian Clough stories are so funny matched only by Stan Ternant ones. Managers like this should be treasured, the likes won’t happen again.

Listened to quite a few of these now, some excellent ones. Usually skip the first 6-8 mins of the 3 of them waffling.

Some brilliant stories of Ternent, Wesley, Warnock and Pardew throughout. Some of the stuff the players got up to, funny, but never get away with any if it these days!

Unbelievable that no matter which you watch our club is always remembered as a proper club. Nothing but good words about us, seems like ex players very rarely find a club like ours, most always saying there best years were at Burnley

I think I've listened to them all. Some of the rambling before the interview is funny, particularly from Parkin, the more you listen to it the more you are in on the in jokes. People saying they don't like the other Chris Brown, but in the end of series review, he tells a story about his school bus that was brilliant.

I was listening to Luke Chadwick's podcast the other day and he said the season at Burnley was the best season of his career because of Stan and all the characters in the dressing room like Tony Grant, Robbie Blake, Glen Little and Ian Moore.
