I seem to remember the second car in this thread, the Ford Anglia, having a crazy V6 version.

Re: Blast from the past
Very much doubt it, the Anglia was on it's last legs by the time the V6 was launched. You might see one at a Custom show. Are you thinking of the Cortina Savage?dougcollins wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 5:36 pmI seem to remember the second car in this thread, the Ford Anglia, having a crazy V6 version.

My Dad's first car,I still remember the dial in the centre of the dashboard which was for the indicators.....think this might have been the model where a flashing stick popped out of the side of the of the car between the doors

My 1st car back in 1975 was a 1964 Mk1 Cortina 1200 (with a 1500 engine fitted) before I passed my test. I bought it for £50 off a mate at work after I passed my test I bought my Mum and Dads old 1967 Triumph Herald 1250

Re: Blast from the past
You're probably right- I think it was a mod that some did as it would take the Capri V6 block.yorkyclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 6:21 pmVery much doubt it, the Anglia was on it's last legs by the time the V6 was launched. You might see one at a Custom show. Are you thinking of the Cortina Savage?

Re: Blast from the past
My first car was an old mini and enjoyable to drive but gave me backache when driving from Skelmersdale to Edinburgh for a holiday. Loved it all the same. It kept going in the snow when even the buses had stopped coming over from Rawtenstall to Burnley, though my wife had to keep looking out of the passenger window to tell me where the ditch was , as the snow was blowing so hard that the windscreen wipers couldn't keep up.
When I first got it and began to give it a full valet I found lots of straw under the back seat and several rabbit snares !!

Heh. My dad talks with great affection about the days when white dog poo was a common sight. I mean, of all the things you could reminisce about.
