Re: Greatest scene from a film.
Good movie.
Best scene for me is when Joe Pesci , De Niro and Liotta are talking with Martin Scorceses Mum in the kitchen after beating that guy nearly to death in Goodfellas, and the mum brings out the painting of the old man and two dogs.
"One dog goes one way, the other dog goes the other way and he's in the middle saying "what do you want from me??""
The whole scene was apparently improvised.

Re: Greatest scene from a film.
Personal favourite is the opening of the attack on Pearl Harbour in Tora! Tora! Tora!
Ok, its as cheesy as cheese can be, and the authenticity of pretty much everything is Braveheart levels, but its still shows just how much of a surprise attack it was and how it must have been to be on the end of that

Same film different scene. The finale, when Tim Roth and hunny bunny are robbing the place and supercool Samuel L. puts him in his place.Steve1956 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 1:59 pmMy favourite scene from the best ever movie made.

Re: Greatest scene from a film.
Goodfellas is a good shout - I liked the scene where Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta (RIP) do the bar scene where Liotta accuses Pesci of being a funny guy.
Also the scene from Heat where De Niro and Pacino argue in a diner:
We're sitting here like a coupla
regular fellas. You do what you
do. I do what I gotta do. What
happens if I am there and I got
to put you away?
(pause)
I won't like it. But, if it's
between you and some poor *******
whose wife you're going to make
into a widow, brother, you are
gonna go down. 'Cause you don't
have to be there. You coulda
gone and been a... a mailman.

Re: Greatest scene from a film.
For me it has got to be the shootout following the bank robbery in Heat. Very well executed and the sound is terrifying. One of the few films I’ve seen where the gunshots sound real (best heard on good speakers).

The ending of For Whom the bell tolls when the American, Jordan after breaking his leg tells his girl she must go on without him. Or the scene in Carve her name with pride when Viginia Mckenna playing the spy Violette Szabo, defiantly fights the Germans and is captured.

The Usual Suspects, when Verbal Kint ( Spacey ), walks out of the police station, shaking off the Polio, step by step, as he gets to the waiting car, door held open by Pete Postheltwaite. You then realise he IS Kaiser Soseye. Brilliant.

Re: Greatest scene from a film.
Few stick out, first one is a little cheesy, but the end of LOTR when Aragon says, "my friends, you bow to no one" and everyone else bows, gives me chills as a big Tolkien fan.
Gladiator when he meets Commodore again "father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife and I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next".
Reservoir dogs, stuck in the middle with you.
Kill Bill 2- "here I come pad mai" and she punches out the coffin- score is amazing too.
Started to think of more as I wrote these so might post again later

Sorry. The 13 year old in me always laughs at that scene when ever someone says something about a lot of money. Causes some funny looks.
