It'll be turned on at 7.45pm. Owen will be talking absolute twaddle for 45 minutes.

Don't mind Ward-Prowse starting. Don't know why Mount keeps getting picked has done nothing in an England shirt. Glad Geealish is starting too.

Nah he’s just a better all round goal keeper, surprisingly and most importantly the world seems to agree except some Burnley fans

Me neither... no doubt if asked about Mounts inclusion, GS will roll out the overused "he's never let me down" line.AwayClaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 6:38 pmDon't mind Ward-Prowse starting. Lost faith in GS I'm afraid. He unnecessarily complicates what is and should be a simple game. And lets be honest, some of his selections and set ups are mind boggling. And he's started making as much sense in interviews as Garth Crooks...

2000 kids on. Be like watching an under 21 game.
Re: England v Italy
Kept more clean sheets for a start and better shot save %.SalisburyClaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 6:59 pmIf you think Ramsdale has had a better season than Pope then fair enough - but it looks like Pope is being treated in the same way as Tarka
But more to the point, he’s playing for arsenal for a reason, he’s quite decent with his distribution, that’s why Pope doesn’t get in.

Italy are 15/4 for a win so Ive gone on that. I hope I'm wrong but that starting XI doesn't inspire me with a lot of confidence.

I am tuning in to watch Wayne Hennessey, to see if he can perform some more heroics.

Yep, I've gone for that too. Wales just had one chalked off after a lengthy review; Roberts playing right wing-back, Hennessey in goal.

Re: England v Italy
Lost faith quite some time ago in GS I'm afraid. There...adjusted it for you. At first I was underwhelmed by the appointment, but being well aware of exactly what the FA want (media compliant, FA compliant, inoffensive, malleable) I wasn't surprised. Then i sort of got on board as he seemed to be doing what he stated he'd do - pick form players in positions they were familiar with and using tactics and formations they understood and were used to playing. Then he just got weird. He just started doing what most of the other England managers have done since Ramsey. I'm not gonna bother explaining what that is, i'm just assuming you know, but i'll ask this. How do you think some of Englands left backs feel about his team selection? How do you think they feel about watching the 2nd/3rd choice right back starting at left back?
You call it slagging off, I call it challenging the starting line ups and the tactics. We got to the final, how was that for you? How did the tactical genius that is Gareth Southgate manage the game?
With the players at his disposal, we SHOULD be European champions. Purely because of GS, we aren't - but we got to the final so it was a success right? I say it wasn't.

No England manager in my life has ever had the wealth of talent GS has had.
But he's ' clean cut', doesnt rock the boat or, get up go dodgy stuff.
Perfect fit fod the suits.

What a save Ramsdale. Succeeding without having Burnley fans’ expectations of Pope, Taylor, Tarks, Mee and Lowton being at the back for England.

Seeing refs letting so much go over the last 6 months I’ve decided it has to be a policy from on high to do away with diving. Pat on the back for whoever came up with that.

I'm not sure why you expect England to be European Champions, we've never won that trophy in our history.bobinho wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 7:57 pmLost faith quite some time ago in GS I'm afraid. The England left backs should pull their finger out, Chilwell can't stay fit, Shaw has been 2nd choice at United, Rose is history, Taylor's had the worst season of his Burnley career. Who else is left to play left back?
As for the team selection, every manager is judged on results, results have been good so the team selections have been justified wether you disagree or not it doesn't matter. You have every right to question the team selection if the teams losing games, questioning team selection of a side playing in a rotation pre-season competition that just came narrowly close to lifting the last major international trophy for the first ever time makes you look stupid imo.
Not to mention you look even more bonkers saying he's not picking players on form when Tammy Abraham is starting ahead of Harry Kane right now, Tomori and Ramsdale are starting. Mount has come off the back of a great season at Chelsea. Rice one of the best CM in the PL last year. Ward Prowse is even getting a chance. I don't know why you're so mad at the selection, who is this bang in form player not getting a sniff?

Re: England v Italy
It's so true about Southgate.
He's a useless manager and he had ample time to prove that at Middlesbrough.
It's like giving Mike Jackson the England manager's job.

Sounds like a ‘60s ladies hockey international at Wembley. 60k little schoolgirls screaming their lungs out.
Re: England v Italy
I’m currently watching in Italy, and nobody seems to be the least bit interested in the game. Mind you where I am is almost totally occupied by Germans.
