Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
£20 million is a ridiculous fee.
How are we supposed to find a Championship player who can give us 0 goals and 1 assist in 18 months for such a ludicrously small amount of money?

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
The Championship is full of hardened professionals and I doubt the loss of McNeil and Cornet , if it happens , will affect our ability to compete. In fact I expect us to be more competitive without them.
While I don't expect we will be at the top end of the table , I can't help being excited by the thought that the manager will encourage an attacking brand of football to excite us fans.
One or two gems still to come in would be great

While £20m is a decent fee it’s still a bit meh. With the right manager tho (dyche defo wasn’t that) he’s gonna develop into a cracking player so £20m might be cheap

Impossible to tell if he’s peaked or just in a rut due to our style/quality around him.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 7:35 pmWhile £20m is a decent fee it’s still a bit meh. I agree, Everton could turn him in to a £40m player (so I hope we have a good sell on clause) or he could lose his way. I hope for the former, obviously.

I would rather part with players now than on the eve of the window closing.Still remember losing Austin this way, luckily Ings stepped up big style

Don’t think he’ll start. I still think someone who knows their stuff won’t be sledge hammering him left wing like Dyche did.

I have never seen o’hare play but based on comments about him by Coventry fans I had expected McNeil to move if we got him. All that disappeared when it was announced the deal was dead I wonder if we will see that deal resurrected after McNeil moves

MMM…. Seen us playing tippy football and losing before; start heading in the wrong direction will excite the fans alright, but not in the way you expect.Elizabeth wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 7:34 pmThe Championship is full of hardened professionals and I doubt the loss of McNeil and Cornet , if it happens , will affect our ability to compete. I didn't know he'd registered those stats in the Championship. I thought they were his most recent Premier League stats.

McNeil will fade away like Tom Ince.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
The Mcneil sale depends on the level of reinvestment, Tyrese Campbell and Ilias Chair please. Failing that I'll take O'Hare and Brewster.

Not ideal to lose McNeill so late on.
It’s going to be an even bigger rebuilding exercise than I had imagined. Patience shall be required, but I still think we are too slow and prolactin the transfer market

If we’re honest we would have expected people to have been in for mee Tarks Collins cornet and McNeil as they are our best players.Belgianclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 7:53 pmNot ideal to lose McNeill so late on.

3 in 14 last season, not been good, clearly talented and something different. Scored 11 in 22 at Swansea 2 years prior.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I'd also prefer Piroe but yeah, just named 2 likely cheaper alternative youngsters who I think could improve. I saw Chelsea were struggling to get rid of Batshuayi and Barkley, both careers have stalled alot, doesn't seem they have many offers on the table either. I'd take Ugbo all day.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 8:03 pmWould prefer us to go for Joel Piroe but probably out of our league.

Kompany covered some of what you're talking about in his press conference today.fatboy47 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 6:32 pmEasy stuff to parrot out after every departure...but it doesn't answer the slightly awkward question I posed earlier in the thread...to briefly rephrase it
Plenty of clubs have managed to retain a strong core of their best players follow relegation... Is there a scrap of evidence...anywhere..that we've made ANY EFFORT AT ALL to entice any of our best players to stay and fight for promotion?
But what sort of evidence would be sufficient here?
A tweet with, "Burnley Football Club would like McNeil to stay but he's said sod off I want to play in the Prem" ?
