It’s getting to the point where you are left wondering who’s next it must be 1 hell of an interest rate on that loan to be going hammer & tongs relentlessly.
Bit of an unknown isn't it.

If we're going all out to reduce capital debt, it'd be understandable...maybe even sensible...if on the other hand it's all about simply servicing the debt then we're probably not in a good place.

We're not short of knowledgeable folk on here but I'd doubt if any of us could provide an accurate picture. I suspect that if we're going to climb out of this hole, it'll have to be achieved on the pitch...we've made a start.

No financial discussion, plenty of other threads to shared your guesses about that.

Money today is always worth more than money tomorrow, in football or any other world. It's a question of degrees as to whether the article in guardian should worry us or not, and it's vague so I won't be losing sleep over it.

Alternative view. We have a Champions League quality player who wants to leave to pursue Premier League football and he has a release clause in his contract. I wonder which it is. Emmm?

I wasn’t just referring to 1 there’s been more than a few who’ve left & maybe more will as well, it wouldn’t be so bad if it was just 1, Norwich & Watford have kept things roughly the same & intact but go on I’ll swallow the line apart from getting the gaffer tape out & locking the doors & windows what else can we do to stop players leaving even contracted 1s.

I did & I was mightily impressed we nullified the bite of the terrier, regarding the brand of football it will surely be based upon results as well as the entertainment & 1 game is 1 game & tougher challenges will be on the horizon. We will win more in this division for sure & we can probably instil this exciting dynamic brand of football & get away with it but for some people retention of 1 or 2 key player was paramount to any hopes of automatically bouncing back at least at the first attempt anyway, I think we will now establish ourselves as a championship side & flirting around the playoff zone will be the best we can hope for season after season with the crippling debt & suppressed investment in the team.

It’s daft isn’t it we could start a debate about Egypt & neglect to mention Cairo, we can just bypass anything intrinsically to further the discussion & make things more exciting.

No offence, but I don't find doom and gloom about establishing as Championship side with suppressed 1st team spending and crippling debt all that exciting, particularly on a no financial discussion thread.

Cornet’s been going for weeks. Kompany said as much in his first press conference and again last week.

I’d be concerned if anyone who played on Friday was sold at this point, but if you’ve been hoping we’d keep Cornet, you’ve not been listening and you’ve been kidding yourselves.

There’s still a chance he’s under contract & appears to be happy to be here.

If it was titled “Egypt, but no Cairo discussion” and I started talking about Cairo, id fully expect to be shouted at, tbh.

Let’s be positive, it’s possible to separate transfer rumours without going into finances & exploring if it’s possible because we don’t need to know if it’s likely or possible do we.

The finances and state of them is irrelevant to most fans .Delete these posts please and let's stick to discussion on our incoming players and the great things we will achieve this season
We will go up and entertain the whole of football into the bargain.

They aren’t irrelevant to most fans. Most fans recognise that regurgitating the same rubbish on thread after thread becomes tiresome.

Norwich don't have any players good enough to play premier League football if they had they would have accepted offers for them I can assure you of that and its wait and see in Watfords case

Can't we start a money thread and those desperate to live in doom and misery can pollute that thread instead of this.

I know it’s been a few days since the Anderson link. I’ve had numerous texts from geordie mates saying it’s a done deal with him being part of a potential cornet deal?

Anyone heard anything similar?

The club is probably putting info, true or otherwise, out to the media to fast forward or increase one deal or another for Maxwel .

I see that 30 year old Bernd Leno the Arsenal No.2 goalkeeper has gone to Fulham for a reported £8m.

Leno was, of course, replaced by England's No.3 keeper Aaron Ramsdale who cost Arsenal a reported £30m last season. You will recall Ramsdale's previous clubs were relegated Bournemouth and relegated Sheffield United.

I'm drawn to the obvious conclusion that his eminence must have had a release clause in his contract; either that or Newcastle kept the receipt and got their money back on Chris Wood.

Excerpt from The Athletic-

A regular in national squads, Pope deduced from conversations with Gareth Southgate, the England manager, that second-tier football would adversely affect his selection hopes. The 30-year-old knew he had to leave Burnley and though there was interest from several top-flight clubs, he was still anxious.

Slightly surprised at this I thought McAtee or Delap would happen but looks like we have missed them both , if in face we were interested in the first place
You can't make a profit on loan players. They will be last resort.

West Ham agreed a fee for Cornet
Nothing on twitter yet. But I hope this is true so it can be over with!

Really struggling to see the sense in all the bile above about posters who link money to transfers because there is more of those nasty posts than actual posts discussing transfer finances.

The two are intrinsically linked, it is impossible to discuss the practicality of individual rumours and future transfer needs without it having a financial element, e.g. a post saying “we may need to sell Cornet if we are to strengthen elsewhere” is very valid. We’ve got to stop with the cancel culture, it gets very tiring.

** mind you, I don’t see any value in using this thread to rip into the board and the takeover, that is irrelevant, negative, and should be on a different thread I would agree.

Deffo gone on too long.

The uncertainty is toxic to all concerned.
