Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
DH sport reporting: The arrival of the Iranian Amirhossein Hosseinzadeh has increased the bottleneck on the wings for Charleroi. It seemed obvious that there would be at least one departure before the transfer window closes (on Sept 6th) and it's finally happening. According to our sources, Anass Zaroury (21 yrs old) is going to Burnley (Championship), the club managed by Vincent Kompany.
Burnley has already agreed terms with the play who announced his departure to his team mates yesterday morning. In the afternoon the negotiations between the two clubs have advances significantly. It is a good bet that nothing will be communicated before the match again Club Bruges on Friday evening. And for good reason, the Blauw en Zwart have also been tracking the player for several months. But Zaroury wants to play in England and without any setbacks it is surely there that he will write the next chapter of his career.

Zaroury is a prospect but serious doubts he can make an immediate impact.

We do seem to be acquiring quite a few wide players.dibraidio wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 1:14 pmDH sport reporting: The arrival of the Iranian Amirhossein Hosseinzadeh has increased the bottleneck on the wings for Charleroi. Did VK say we need 2 players for every position or was it actually 20?
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
So it's looking increasingly likely that this system is going to morph a bit into a 4-2-3-1 just on the amount of links we have to wide / attackers
What worries me is that we are still crying out for a dedicated number 10 (our KDB) who can pick a pass and link play in the final third
In a 4-2-3-1 we have these players who could all theoretically play in those 3 positions
Brownhill
Bastien
Benson
Twine
Churlinov
Tella
Zaroury (if signed)
JBG
Vitinho will now probably play as left/right back cover now, and maybe Tella could be one of our striker options on occasion?
Feels like we are seriously overloaded for this area of the pitch.

Actually, I think our plan is to have 100% possession and manage 1 shot on target all game, winning 1-0.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
any or all of those players can be considered as young enough (bar JBG and possibly Brownhill) to be shaped and/or moulded into a different player than what we signed them for. With development I would think at least one of these will become a very good (top top top as the pundits say) forward player, after all most top clubs will play a premium for a player who can score goals right...? I think this is the development model we're going for, exciting young attacking minded players where they should all be comfortable at this level, but one or two (hopefully a few!) will go on to be much better than when they joined us.Ric_C wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 1:42 pmSo it's looking increasingly likely that this system is going to morph a bit into a 4-2-3-1 just on the amount of links we have to wide / attackers

isn't cohibaclaret based in Belgium ? He's been pretty active on all our Belgian signings. I asked him above for his reasoning so it'll be interesting to hear why he has come to that conclusion

Belgian U-21, good speed and skill, but still very inexperienced and a bit lightweight for upfront. Predominantly still a left winger, and I think we already have a few of those if I'm not mistaken.

You miss the point. It's not me judging it's the market.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 11:14 amThink its impossible to judge after five games on who might be capable of playing at a higher level, who will be a solid championship player and who is not going to work out tbf
As Vincent Kompany points out
"The reason why these loan signings can be important is because most teams in the Championship cannot afford Nathan Tella or Taylor on a permanent," he said. "So you substitute the long term a little bit for the short term but as you have seen when it is the right talent, it makes the team stronger."

can't understand the potential new GK to be honest but I'm sure there's a plan behind it
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I can understand people saying that, but I thought BPF played well the other night and has plenty of time to improve. GK's rarely get injured so although it's a key position I don't understand it since the boy coming in has no proven history of being any better that I can see, of course I've never heard of him and he seems a reserve keeper from what I can see, while BPF is a full international.
Just think we've other positions that are far more important and need full attention, but that's just me!

Young, very little expense and they must feel he has potential. In an area where we are very week IMO. What's the issue? Just because we (may) sign him doesn't mean we stop looking to also recruit elsewhere!KateR wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 12:18 pmI can understand people saying that, but I thought BPF played well the other night and has plenty of time to improve. Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
IMO although BPF had a poor game in pre-season, it's completely unfair to judge the lad on one game. He was playing in a different country in baking heat for one. He's had a good season away last season, give the lad a break.claretandy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 12:26 pmDid you not see the goals that he conceded against Newcastle?

I feel a bit sorry for BPF. Signed as back-up to Pope and told to bide his time, his moment will come. Gets loaned out, then Pope sold and he still doesn't get his chance.
