If we add Archer to this we’ll be lethal… come on Villa, get a striker!

Would certainly add a new string to our bow.

And KRBFC as they are essentially the same poster. Especially when Newcastle has been posting constantly recently and KRBFC is nowhere to be seen. Well if we get offered £25m for Josh, he's going. We could sign another 10 wingers.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 7:41 pmSomething so quintessentially Burnley about this post. Tremendous.

I’d be hacked off if they were let Brownhill leave. I could see Taylor going if we sign a replacement though.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
That’s a very interesting comment if VK has said that referring to our last forays into the market before the window shuts.
He’s been very transparent and quite specific with his words on any matter thus far, so it doesn’t seem like the sort of thing he would say without meaning, and context behind it.
Makes me wonder if we might be in the process of signing a big name player (loan or otherwise).

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Who is his mate? I assume you mean me?
Not sure why I'd be quiet tonight, I've not once criticised VK or this team, I see positive signs only and have done since the first game. Don't let my moaning about the financial position of the club distract you from my positive thoughts on the team, VK and the transfer window in general (I think Benson is poor addition and said I'd like to see 1 or 2 of real quality, mainly at ST).
Newcastle is a different breed, he lost his patience with this team 3 games ago, not me though.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
What insane players could potentially be available that would constitute the ‘unexpected’?
I’ll throw one out there - Juan Mata on a free transfer. Was meant to be signing for Real Betis but they have some kind of embargo against them, and he’s now in limbo without a club.
Yes, an insane shout - but all good fun!

Jason Denayer? Played with Kompany at City and for Belgium…currently on a free transfer after leaving Lyon (still only 27).northeastclaret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 11:13 pmAre there any other ex city players , CH or striker that played with Kompany that might want to do him a favour?

Jason Denyer would certainly fit the category of unexpected due to the level of clubs potentially linked with him

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Nixon’s written his 300th story about Kouyate and Mikautadze. Some sensationalised crap about a “diplomatic row” holding up the deals because Metz blame us for Kouyate refusing to play.
Again, it sounds like he’s writing it at the behest of agents trying to shift the pair.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Burnley are in a diplomatic row with French side Metz over their bid to sign two of their stars.
Vincent Kompany’s club had an offer for centre half Boubacar Kouyate rejected and the defender has since refused to play.
Now the Clarets are being blamed for the dispute - despite rivals trying for Kouyate - and that is hampering their attempt to land Metz’s Georgia striker Georges Mikautadze.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
That’s a funny story
They caused this ‘row’ themselves, by selling one of Kouyate’s defensive partners on the cheap, and refusing higher bids for him.
Metz are ultimately a selling club, it’s part of their business and survival model, especially when it comes to African talent (they have a feeder/link club in Senegal) and they still have ground developments to finish/pay for. They’ll probably both go this window…it’s just whether it’s to Burnley or not.

If you are (like me!) incapable of ignoring stuff that annoys you, then the best way really is to mute them

Been told by a decent source that Ashley Barnes has been told that he can leave and that we are looking at 5+ players still. Not sure if we are looking at signing that many players or if it’s just different options for the same positions etc.

Unlikely - Champions League standard player. But not totally 100% out of the question depending on wages and his relationship with Kompany. Would be some coup.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 11:29 pmJason Denayer? Played with Kompany at City and for Belgium…currently on a free transfer after leaving Lyon (still only 27).
