Was really looking forward to Huddersfield away but I have to travel by train, problem is that Google maps is telling me it’s a one hour walk so prob have to give it a miss.

If you're referring to the distance between the station and the ground, I can assure you that it's a brisk 15 minute walk.durhamclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 3:40 pmWas really looking forward to Huddersfield away but I have to travel by train, problem is that Google maps is telling me it’s a one hour walk so prob have to give it a miss.

Huddy away is always the first one I look for. Breakfast in the White Hart or Polished Knob in Tod then Huddy by train via Dewsbury Station bar. However, we are at a family wedding in Windsor and the bride has refused to change the date!! Bit selfish!!
Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
I remember from recent seasons that we thought games against the likes of Watford and Norwich were pretty uninspiring
Now they are our "marquee" games
And certainly not getting excited about the prospect of facing the likes of Rotherham, Luton, Reading, Birmingham and even Blackpool
Some people still looking forward to such exciting games this season ?

I'm excited about the chance of being expected to and hopefully beating the teams you mentioned if that's what you mean. Which makes a change from the day the fixtures come out when in the Premier league.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 4:24 pmI remember from recent seasons that we thought games against the likes of Watford and Norwich were pretty uninspiring

Uninspiring, I'd imagine that's how all the other 19 Premier League teams used to view the fixtures agasinst us...jojomk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 4:24 pmI remember from recent seasons that we thought games against the likes of Watford and Norwich were pretty uninspiring

I find it hard to believe you look forward to pretty much anything at Burnleyjojomk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 4:24 pmI remember from recent seasons that we thought games against the likes of Watford and Norwich were pretty uninspiring

There'll be far more interest in going to Huddersfield than there would have been if we were playing City or Liverpool away.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 4:24 pmI remember from recent seasons that we thought games against the likes of Watford and Norwich were pretty uninspiring

You sound like you watch the opposition more than you do the Clarets?jojomk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 4:24 pmI remember from recent seasons that we thought games against the likes of Watford and Norwich were pretty uninspiring

Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
The only time we should be looking forward to games this season is if we are doing well and look like we have a chance of going straight back up.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 4:39 pmGames against the likes of Watford and Norwich are pretty uninspiring. This season should be about getting promoted, nothing else.

I think you’ll find a lot of people are looking forward to actually enjoying the football again.

I know it's only a short break but I can't wait to go again, and exorcise the pain of relegation. Udders is my favourite away day. One of the lads who go with us works over that way so we always meet up with a right sound group of lads and have a good day. 3 points is 100% what we need to get started.

Well that's the lot we've got, however we also might have a realistic aim of actually lifting a trophy come next May.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 4:24 pmI remember from recent seasons that we thought games against the likes of Watford and Norwich were pretty uninspiring

Whereas in the PL it was simply a case of grinding out results to survive, and that was becoming increasingly weary.
Being in the Championship obviously isn't ideal, but it may allow Kompany the chance to build a more youthful and exciting squad, because we're long overdue a changing of the guard.

Boll×××s, I miss bas×××ds at home and Wigan away due to covid catch up holidays. Will be at every game apart from those. Strangely looking forward to Millwall and Luton away again. Bring it on.

Huddersfield (a), Luton (h), Watford (a).
After these first three games, we will definitely know a lot more about Kompany, his squad and more importantly if we will be able to challenge for the top six. Looking forward to it now.
