That was out of the blue for me, but really pleased for Wade, always one of my favourite players as well.
I hope he enjoys as much success as Duff did.

A lovely bloke on the occasions I met him, a really articulate, down to Earth, chatty and approachable man. I think he will do well.

All the very best to Wade. Really thought he’d have been picked up before now, He seemed to do quite a decent job babysitting Bristol City as interim manager. I think Wade has all the attributes to make a good manager, so I wish him the extra good fortune needed

A surprise to me this news, Wade will always be a Clarets legend for his wonder strike at Wembley.
Wish him well at Cheltenham, but Duff will be a hard act to follow.

I’m just glad I got my chance to finally thank him for THAT goal at the supporters clubs end of season awards a couple of years ago. Top man.
Re: Wade Elliott new Cheltenham manager.
I'm pleasantly surprised. I thought Wade might go with MD to Burnsley.
Are there any Clarets who don't wish Wade good luck?

League 1 fixtures for 2022-23 has Mike Duff's Barnsley first home league of the season against Wade Elliott's Cheltenham.

Wonder if Duff also got Burnley and Barnsley mixed up and thought he was getting the Burnley job.

Re: Wade Elliott new Cheltenham manager.
That's great news. Obviously one of my all-time favourite players. Met him on a number of occasions too and he's a really nice, normal guy as well. Absolutely no ego to him whatsoever which is more than you can say for some footballers!

Best of luck to a Clarets legend
Can still vividly remember his Wembley curler from where I was sat on that magical day

Re: Wade Elliott new Cheltenham manager.
Long interview with Wade given to the local paper. We know he's an intelligent lad and that comes across with everything he says.
Talks about his pre-professional days when he was studying in London and travelling down to Bashley (New Forest) or somewhere else in Hants/Dorset every weekend.
Well worth reading IMHO.
I have a friend who supports Cheltenham and he sent me the link. Great respect for him as he's a life-long Robins' fan and has thus spent most of his Saturdays watching non-league down the years.

Re: Wade Elliott new Cheltenham manager.
A harsh welcome to management for Wade, Cheltenham 2-0 up at HT yesterday, yet they went on to lose 3-2 against Peterborough.
