That was a blatant yellow. Obviously going the "game management" route of refereeing

There seems to be very few cards handed out in this tournament, has there been a single red card?

Seen a few yellows dished out, but can't recall a red.
Mind you, I haven't seen all the games.

Very exciting start so far. But am I the only person who doesn’t get the hype with Lucy Bronze? Ballon D’or winner but I’ve never seen her have a good game.

Just had this conversation with the missus, she's one of the more experienced players and is obviously older now, it's possibly down to the improvement in the women's game as a whole that the players coming through are making her look more average. A few years ago at the world cup, Bronze was absolutely brilliant

The technical quality of the players has improved immeasurably over the past 10 years. Amazing what happens when they get paid and train every day eh!

There is absolutely no reason why in 20 years time the technical side of the woman’s game can’t be equal to the men’s.

But 20 years from now the men's game will be 20 years more advanced.

But how much better can the mens game at the top level get from where it is now? The room for development is nowhere near as large as it is in the womens game. Look at how much better the women have got in a short space of time, with better coaching and more funding their room for and rate of growth will be rapid.

I dont watch England men because they play with no enthusiasm or pride.

The women's team are fantastic and im really enjoying the commitment of the team. Jumped off the sofa when that went in... com'on England!

I think I’d prefer women referees, they seem to let the play flow , interesting when Sweden had a corner, the attacker stood right in front of our keeper, blocking her, and both jumped together as the ball came across, the keeper tried punching it but the defender had her under pressure resulting in them hitting the bar. I can almost guarantee any current prem ref would have blown for a free kick for England on the grounds that the Swedish player was impeding the keeper. She let a definite yellow card against Sweden go early on but apart from that I’m all for this getting on with play.

The women's game has come on leaps and bounds and is a good watch, likewise the mens game has improved fitness and technique wise over the last 20 years. That said I think I prefer how the women approach the game, they just seem more respectful towards the ref and play with a lot less cheating.
