Season tickets

Post by Burnley1989 » Sat Aug 06, 2022 2:56 pm

No surprise I got to the turnstile and not working with my children, literally told them on the way it would happen! Hundreds in the queue going to miss kick off.

Was that double sold as STH or as a ticket for todays game?

I’d be asking for a couple of those big padded ones in the BL stand that are sitting empty…especially if it’s the clubs error!

I got my lad and his mate season tickets in JMU, paid in full, walked them to the turnstiles and it didn’t work “no entry”. Luckily there was a woman in charge knocking about and she let them in.

Reading on here the Huddersfield issues and now all this, as much as I’m loath to criticise people it’s clearly a massive shambles in that ticket office.

Tickets sent to wrong addresses, season cards not loaded etc, it’s human error on a mass scale.

Only asking as we have swapped seat this season

3 have moved to one row with 2 directly on row behind.

2 of us unable to attend today so we sat in the 3, but there was somebody sat behind in the 2 other seats we have.

Didn’t think much about it tbh. Will have to wait till the Hull game when all 5 of us are all there

I went in the ticket office about 3 weeks ago to buy 2 tickets for me and my son. Hoping to get seats near to where we once was for a long time. The young chap behind the perspex couldn’t really be bothered, it was all a bit too much trouble for him and it looked like he was doing me a favour. So l said to him in the end ‘forget it l will leave it’ and walked away. Now it’s not as if we have thousands on a waiting list and ST sales should be viewed as the lifeblood of the club. Suppose a business is only as good as the people that work for it. Bought my previous ST off Elaine and of course that was a totally different experience.

2 x 2 people in front of me, BLS turnstilles, entrance 2, had paper tickets rejected as the reader said ' tickets cancelled'.
2:50 pm, they weren't happy.

My season tickets didn't work either, had them years, pay DD, kept them through COVID, didn't do the refund thing, but just checked and no payments out recently. I've got a terrible feeling they've sold my seats to someone else.

Same happened to me and my grandad. Went up and sat down with about 10 mins to kick off and someone came over and said we were sat in their seats and showed us their season ticket which were the exact same seats.

Ended up having to stand in the little stairway for 5 mins waiting to see if there was any empty seats we could sit in. At half time there was someone behind us saying the same thing had happened to them.

I’m presuming it’s down to the club putting tickets for all home games on sale before they took season tickets off sale. It’s probably going to be an issue all season now as people will still be buying up season tickets in seats that have had normal tickets sold for some games.

The bloke in the seat next to me had the same problem.
When he got to the turnstile his card wouldn't work and so had to go and queue at the ticket office.
When the staff there checked his card he was told that his season ticket hadn't been renewed.

Seems that although he had re-set his direct debit as the club had asked everyone to do, when checking his bank account no money has been taken.
He paid for a ticket to get in to the game and came over to tell us what had happened. He wasn't able to sit in his own seat because someone else was there who has bought a season ticket for his seat.

So what will happen now is anyones guess!

3 of us moved our STs to the BL after going down to the ticket office and selecting our un-restricted view seats.

No problem with entry into the ground but when we got to our seats I think there's a slight discrepancy between the seats we were sold and the ones we've actually got...

Not sure what's happened or if they'll be able to move us now but we'll be paying a visit to the ticket office tomorrow to find out :?

Just really ****** off because I’d literally told the mrs this would happen, how do you double sell a seat ffs

The fact we can double sell tickets for a seat is, in my opinion, considerably more alarming than a group of fans standing in the lower Longside (not saying that is good though either)

3 lads were sat on my seat and were not for moving. It was chaos.

You could easily have an overcrowding situation and it the principals of which are extremely dangerous.

No, no one's been in touch, my bank details are the same. I would have expected cancelling your ST would be something you actively instruct them to do.

I think you still have to actively renew the season ticket for the direct debit to continue

Don’t laugh but twenty minutes into the game a lady and two children were given seats in the padded ones around by us because the club had allocated them season tickets in seats already sold in Jimmy Mac.

You still had to renew the season ticket for this season

That was in the details when early bird prices announced

The person sat next to me yesterday is going to be sat there for the first 3 matches as his season ticket seat has been sold for those games, so the club have temporarily relocated him from another stand. He knew in advance though so no drama

I’m sure I read somewhere that was the case now people can buy tickets for future matches well in advance? Have people missed anything in communications from the club?

Basically the early bird purchase guarantees your seat all season, but more recent season ticket purchases might face being moved for an odd game if that seat has been sold already for an odd game?

It’s be interesting to know if this issue has affected anybody who purchased in the early bird period?

This particular incident is not the clubs fault. Due to the covid season, everyone who purchased through direct debit and chose to use the money owed for last seasons ticket had their direct debit agreement cancelled last season. The club made this clear.

By law, the club cannot just reinstate a direct debit agreement to someone's bank account. The permission can only come from the bank account holder and the named bank.

Not a season ticket issue per say but yesterday I got tickets for the JH Lower because it was one of the only areas I could get multiple tickets together (went on with a few friends).

Came out of the concourse and noticed that a few rows of seats had a cover on that I presumed could be ours - which indeed they were…

Informed the steward to which he replied ‘can you find some other seats over there’ (pointing to another nearby section dotted with fans)

I said ‘are you joking? I’m not messing around trying to find an available seat playing musical chairs - go and get your manager’ - he did nothing so me and my mates just pulled the the covering off.

Obviously not a huge issue but if the club are selling seats that they have covers on or in other instances in this thread are double selling seats, as well as stewards giving poor stewardship then this is when bad situations can arise - and they turn bad very quickly

I walked up, went straight in without a problem and went to my seat in the JHU. Completely stress free if you discount someone asking if I had moved this season because I was in the wrong row. Only been sitting in the same row for double digit years and now apparently have dyslexia

The frustrating thing is it’s really basic, how do you **** up like that. My little girl doesn’t want to go in next game because her ticket doesn’t work. I’ve told her I’ll sort it but I’ve no confidence it will work and if someone will be sat in her seat

I know. That was the point I was making, and might be the cause of people being sat in a person’s season ticket season if The season ticket purchaser bought that seat after someone else had bought an individual match ticket for it.

Same seat as last 14 years.

Set up my ST as per various places it was advertised on DD again.

Had all payments going out each month, no problems.

Had a bit of a concern journey might have been longer than normal because of posts on here warning of potential traffic delays around Burnley. Set off 10 mins early for no reason.

Walked to ground, enjoying the warmer climate in my shorts and t-shirt.

Got to the ground and you would never believe it….

My card wouldn’t scan…. The gentleman at the turnstiles kindly took it off me and tried it and it let me in…

Managed to get my drink and snack

Managed to find my seat and enjoyed the warm up.

Got to game time and no probs with anyone trying to sit in my seat.

Great day out in the end.

No problems in the CFS, was an added bonus that the group of idiots around us from last season weren't there yesterday, let's hope they have decided not to renew this season.

apart from my m8s seat swap card not working yesterday (off into ticket office Tuesday to sort it out) we are the same ... most of the people who sit around us were back (a couple of missing people due to holidays thats all)

I fully understand the reasons we changed from ST books with vouchers to Team Cards but yet there is still a turnstile operator on each turnstile so I don`t see what we have gained from the change also I don`t think there were as many problems as we currently have under that system so the club either need to get a grip of the current system or take a step backward because whilst I have had no problems whatsoever if I start to experience the problems some fans seem to be having I won`t be putting up with all this hassle they can forget my renewal.

I have just noticed that the 2 new teamcards that I received are completely different to eachother.

One is predominantly claret with a bit of blue that says "Forever Claret" whilst the other is predominantly blue and says Burnley Football Club

Is it as simple to assume that they have recycled an old team card?

On another note - have ST's gone completely off sale now? Was going to get one this week but they're off the website, shame really - there were plenty to sell and I'd still pay the full price!

On another note - have ST's gone completely off sale now? Was going to get one this week but they're off the website, shame really - there were plenty to sell and I'd still pay the full price!
Maybe give the TO a call or call in and see what they can do for you.

Sending away tickets to the wrong people and addresses was bad enough but how on earth can they be double selling so many seats! What on earth is going on at the club. Who runs the ticketing software because I would be telling them to f off and I would be using someone else.
It isn’t even armature, in this day and age these things should not be happening full stop.
People should be losing their jobs. It is disgraceful and if I was Pace or anyone high up at the club I would be be deeply embarrassed and I would make sure it is put right now.

All this is putting me off going again. Since the Covid break, I just couldn't be arsed going on again. This has done nothing to tempt people back in.
Doesn't seem to take much!

Just thongs which can be overcome.

I suspect there is a momentary pause while they sort the double bookings. Then available again. They will need to offer choice to those who thought they had a season ticket, but maybe forgot to renew on the website.

With 2 people per seat, is our capacity now 43,000? ;)
