Re: Radio " 5Live " ... Classified Results
Another poor decision by the powers that be at the BBC. I thought the Classified Results was an institution.

It's "cue"......
I thought your lot would be delighted the BBC seem to be taking this stance to exclude those unable to access other means of finding out the scores....
Only joking, they haven't, of course, the results service is still available on Final Score or whatever it is called these days. You know, television.
Re: Radio " 5Live " ... Classified Results
Clearly I know that but II am typing fast on a phone. I wondered which bright spark would jump on that first. I knew one of ‘your lot’ would be on here to back up the BBC soon enough and we all know way. Good Day.

Aye, course you did..
Where have I backed up the BBC? I couldn't care less where and when the results are on the radio, I have a phone which, strangely enough, gives me access to lots of sources for the results.

Now resigned to history and folks memories, along with the Saturday evening edition of the London Evening Standard containing all of the classified results and reports on the London fixtures. I am still coming to terms with that and now this on top. What to do?

Leg it back to Central for the 16.59 and make sure I’m sat behind someone with a radio. Essential part of the match day experience in the 70s and 80s

No surprise really.
As soon as the final whistle goes until the 5.30 kick off it is all about the Premier league. It’s like all other football doesn’t exist

It's exactly the same with the written media. Every Friday The Metro newspaper has a pullout section MATCHZONE "Your guide to ALL the weekend football action", but if there are no PL fixtures that weekend then that section of the paper is not printed even if there are full fixture lists for the other divisions.

606 had an 'EFL Special' on the first Saturday - apart from the fact the first hour of calls were all Premier League ones.
Re: Radio " 5Live " ... Classified Results
That is outstanding. Obviously a lot more matches, however, it demonstrates the size of the teams in the Championship.Clarets4me wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 6:23 pmAttendances at EFL grounds totalled 17,458,819 last season, as opposed to 14,999,402 for the Premier League ..
As for the stopping g of 5pm results on BBC. Appalling. All my life, they have been there, for everyone interested in football.

Brought back memories from my teenage years....SlidingTackle wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:47 pmSlightly off topic, but please reassure me that on leaving grounds at around 5pm you'd sometimes see random groups of blokes following someone who had a transistor radio to glean just anything about the afternoons' games (whether or not he was going in their direction)? Just like men standing outside television shops watching the results come through on the teleprinter, that was a 'thing' wasn't it?
walking down Brunshaw Road after the game keeping close to whoever had a transistor radio with the results on!

Spot on, BBC and others care not a jot for anything other than Premier League.
That said I thought Charlotte Green was so dull she almost killed the programme on her own.
