Cricket Field trouble
Lancs live report
"Fan clashes
It wasn't clear from our vantage point how serious it was, but there was certainly clashes between the two groups of supporters in the Cricket Field End. Stewards were busy to separate fans as they made their way towards the exit and there is no need for any of it. Just enjoy the game."
Seriously, the Blackburn game is going to be horrific if the clowns can't behave against Luton

How could Vegas witness the trouble 3750 miles away?. I was 4o yds away and the only thing I could see was the usual childish banter, literally nothing to see

Why do our own fans always pressume that it is ours that start any trouble?

Good that both sets of fans are allowed to have a get together at one part of the ground it makes the fan experience more enjoyable and enhances the atmosphere

Re: Cricket Field trouble
Was talking to a police sergeant this morning who said the “bubble” was not planned for the Rovers games. I said “What if there is trouble at our home game, would it not be imposed on us when we travel there?” He said it was very unlikely as the “boss” is determined that the bubble will not feature this season.

The only way to get rid of these clowns is to price them out...
I have about 150 events business clients on my books and every one of them has priced events specifically so that chavs are discouraged and it's worked... Far less trouble all around...
These music and family events will never admit it but they are 100% trying to price out certain demographics... Probably what will happen in football long-term as well and is kind of starting to happen already with some of the bigger clubs anyway.

Re: Cricket Field trouble
Club have to take a share of the blame here, why when they are expecting a club to bring less than half the full allocation do they allow away tickets to sold right up to the divide.
My vantage point in the Longside Upper appeared to see Luton fans rushing towards the divide to goad the Burnley supporters when they scored, I commented that this would have been avoided if common sense was implemented by the safety officer but it looks like they were too busy sending letters about persistent standing.

I usually don't mind anything you post on here but that is just ********. All clubs have there fair share of knobs but to just lay the blame at your own is out of order in my book. Just like all these that complain about the singing speed on the cricket field who would never dream of opening their mouth to sing.

Not before time either as there as been little trouble pre bus days in comparison to derby days in other towns and cities, and is most certainly a breach of ones human rights

Re: Cricket Field trouble
I can't say I noticed any trouble and was chatting to a few Luton fans after the game.
West Ham have put up a great divide so home and away fans can't see each other. Will end up like this if trouble keeps happening.

Heh. It really isn't. Nothing stopping anyone from going to Blackburn or anywhere else for that matter. The 'bubble' is a condition of entry to the football ground for away fans. Private companies can put up whatever T&C they like if they are following police guidance.

Our fan base has changed a lot since you were on the Turf.
I was just saying to my mate on Saturday how many females and kids attend these days.
Still a few daft apeths on but heavily outnumbered these days.

Re: Cricket Field trouble
It doesn't guarantee it but there's definitely a correlation between how much a company or event charges and the behaviour of the people... The environment plays a part too...Exactly the reason why Centre Parcs is miles better than Haven/Pontins etc.
Money doesn't guarantee class
For example, I always see trouble at a local cricket club that holds wedding and christening events etc and purely by its location and environment, you can guarantee trouble most nights... Compare that to a place I go to events regularly in the countryside, it's like chalk and cheese!...
I used to be poorer than most and now I'm wealthier than most and I definitely see a massive difference in behaviour now, when I can afford the higher-end things in life, whether it's going to a christening, an event, travelling on a train or by air and many other things in life...
There's a reason why these big event organiser's clients that I manage purposely try to price out certain demographics and I've seen the stats of before and after and it's like 90% less trouble when they go over a certain price threshold.
Re: Cricket Field trouble
Crikey, I think BigChaCha and claret2018 have been in the Premier League too long. I think I prefer the daftness to the snobbishness. A place like Burnley and you want to price poorer people out, what a nonsense.

Re: Cricket Field trouble
The people who would be priced out first are those like me, on fixed incomes and suffering badly from the huge price surge on many things so those 'nicer' people with loads of dosh can continue paying for special treatment. It's way over 30 years since I last had a fight attending a football match, and, indeed, anywhere at all but, because I prefer the atmosphere in the CFS I must be chavvy **** who needs pricing out of stadia.BigChaCha wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:40 pmThe only way to get rid of these clowns is to price them out...

I've been to some fairly exclusive 'events' all over the world, and very affluent people are no different from less well off folk when excessive alcohol is involved. Having a wallet full of JPMorgan gold cards doesn't stop people turning into arseholes. Quite the opposite, in my experience.

oh I dont know. I came back from Center Parcs a couple of weeks back - it appeared to be filled with individuals you wouldn't expect to see there, and I was even threatened in one of the shops by a chav because he thought I had a go at his kid for something (which didn't happen, I was talking to my own son).claret2018 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 2:23 pmExactly the reason why Centre Parcs is miles better than Haven/Pontins etc.

I stood chatting in the JHU after. Was one of the last back to the concourse. It looked "lively" rather than violent. Stewards pushing fans away and lots of pointing. Nothing like Arsenal at home last season.

It would work to a degree of course. The same way bars and restaurants can price out many of the undesired. But this is a club for the community - income should not be a factor. It is for everyone. We don't want to lose a massive part of the fanbase. If you (with that massive sense of superiority) did this then numbers would dwindle. Better segregation strategy is needed, those that want to stand/sit. Those that want a laugh/serious/blanket. Those that prefer something posh or something more industrial. Its not so difficult. And putting away fans up close to one particular group isn't smart.

It just looked like the usual goading of rash other, and the issue happened when Luton scored and a loaf of their fans ran over to the dividing fence to lean as far over as they could. Burnley fans didn’t back off and that’s the whole story I think.
