First half I would have giving mainly 7s and 8s

Muric 4 Sorry but he has to be told not to fart about at the back. In the first 60 minutes the only time Blackpool looked dangerous was when he got the ball.
Roberts 6 should be a lot better in this system
THB 7 best defender on the day
Taylor 5 I said it after the Hudddersfield match, he is not a centre back
Maatsen 6 played well first half then the YOUNG man let the team down with a ridiculous red card
Cork 7 played well first half but he does tire.
Cullen 6 when drops into Westwood mode (sideways, sideways) he has no influence.
Brownhill 7 plus one for goal
Vitinho 7 flatters to deceive sometimes
Tella 8 great in attack and worked hard dropping back
Jayrod 7 good performance, why oh why was he subbed for Barnes.

Barnes 3 should have gone three years ago, he has become an embarrassment.

VK 7 perfect first half set up, should not have made the subs when he did.
I said after the Huddersfield match we need two good Championship strikers and a strong, athletic left sided centre back. Muric has to be told not to f.ck about at he back like he does. Barnes should be loaned out to Accy.

Muric 6. Made some good saves, complicit in the first goal

Roberts 6. Tidy enough
THB 7. Set up the first two goals but him and Taylor don’t look like a convincing pairing
Taylor 6 as above, we look very flakey at the back.
Maatsen 4 didn’t think he was playing all that well before sending off, they had a go at him second half and it paid off.

Cullen 6 looked in control of things until mid way in second half
Cork 6. Some very good bits of play but then seemed to vanish as the game progressed
Brownhill 7. As above but great shot for first goal

Tella 8 two excellent strikes, looks a real threat, quick strong and smart, looks a level above.
Vitinho 5 seems to struggle to do two things right in a row, zero influence on the game
Rodriguez 7. Thought he led the line well

Barnes 3. All been said above but so far nobody has mentioned his air shot
Bastien 5. Another lightweight who seems to contribute little apart from running about
Churlinov 5. No effect on the game
Benson 6 as against Luton, helped to turn the tide for the prolonged period of extra time. Enigmatic and mercurial, typical winger.

Gudmundsson on the bench today, if fit and firing on all four he will be light years ahead of anyone who has played so far in that right hand forward slot.

Crazy game, superb watch for the neutral, we are great at finding new ways to not win games.

Muric 6 - mixed bag obviously
Roberts 5 - Just seems out of position a lot and offers little going forward. Time for Lowton?
Harwood-Bellis 7 - Did ok, great ball for the 1st goal and 2nd goal, more please
Taylor 5 - Meh
Maatsen 5 - they seemed to target him 2nd half, Bowler had a field day. Crazy reaction, poor
Cork 6 - Tidy
Cullen 5 - off it today
Brownhill 7 - great goal
Tella 8 - Looks a player. Cornet replacement?
Vitinho 5 - Another meh performance, still think his best position could be RB
JRod 7 - Looks at home in this team, should have stayed on

Barnes 4 - Missed a couple of good chances, fell to the floor when he should have done better at the end Time's up I'm afraid
Benson - 6 - Good cameo
Churlinov - 5 Looked rusty which is understandable, not sure bringing him on was the best idea
Bastien - Meh

Totally threw away 2 points. very lucky in the end to get one. Subs at that stage were bizarre.

Muric 6 some good saves, crowd on his back didn't help him at all.
Roberts 5
THB 7
Taylor 4
Maatsen 3
Cork 4 great first half, looked absolutely knackered in the 2nd and was like playing with 10
Cullen 5
Tella 8
Vitinho 5
Brownhill 6
Jay 5

So flat 2nd half, trying to slow the game down instead of pushing forward for a 4th. Crowd on the keepers back. Wrong subs, Barnes is fecking useless. Bastien is poor. Benson can't cross for toffee.

Two game turning points for me. The mix-up between Muric and Cullen to gift Blackpool their goal when we were well on top at 2 nil and Jay Rod's substitution. Game management cost us today, and the experience we have in the squad didn't come to the fore and get us over the line. A tough one to take.

Good game this but we were architects of our own downfall and should have had the game wrapped up by half time against another poor team.

Muric - 7 made some very good saves. He's about 40% at fault for the first goal, it was more Cullen's fault. Obviously playing to instructions but needs to he can't play it out like that every time. He can see if a player has an opponent nearby so just needs to make better decisions about who he gives it to.

Roberts - 6 thought he was fine, nowt special, nowt terrible

Harwood-Bellis - 7 quite amusing to have your centre half man marked but that's exactly how Blackpool got themselves back in the game. Very good again.

Taylor - 5 mystifying why he won't play that obvious ball down the line to Maatsen in acres of space until its too late.

Maatesn - 4 at fault for the 2nd at least. Understandable reaction to being booted like that but, whilst it was only really a push, referees will always send you off for reacting.

Cork - 7
Cullen - 5 if you're marked, don't ask for the ball off the keeper and certainly don't try to do some weird flick. He found himself with more space than against Hull but didn't do a great deal with it.

Brownhill - 7 thriker

Tella - 8 2 goals and Blackpool were scared to death of him. No idea why he was brought off.

Vitinho - 6 looks like a full back playing further forward because that's what he is. Not sure why he made way either.

Rodriguez - 6 very good indeed first half, just saw less of the ball in the second. Shame we have to msnge his game time because the other option is

Barnes - 3 appalling. Like Brighton and that other game at the start of last season, it all turned when he came on. The dive and handball near the end summed him up. Guy is a moron.

Should have been put to bed at half time and even at 3-1 we should be seeing it out against the likes of Blackpool. It is still very early days though and this was a naive performance more than anything else. Another good learning experience, both players and management should get a lot out of this one.

Muric - 5 - not at blame for the first for me, was at blame for the third by not coming off his line, which concerns me more than his distribution.

Roberts - 6 - fine, not offering much going forward but isn’t allowed to in this system

THB 6- looked great first half but bullied a little by Madine when he came on.

Taylor - 5 - not a CB, gets 3 games in his favoured position now, will be interesting to see what Kompany does against Wigan.

Maatsen - 4 - -1 for the ridiculous lack of discipline, but also terrible defending for their second. Our best player going forward but defensively suspect for sure.

Cullen - 5 - his quality on the ball is clear to see, but he got booked and then couldn’t get stuck in like he has done, and was scared to get a tackle in, should have been hooked after an hour.

Cork - 5 - Again, same as Cullen, Blackpool knew if you stop these two at source; you stop us from playing.

Tella - 8 - MOM - Full of running; two great finishes but also a lot of good defensive work to support Maatsen, which we lost when he went off.

Brownhill - 7 - was never a fan last season but looks like a new player in this more advanced position.

Vitinho - 6 - worked hard and looked to be positive but is clearly a FB playing out of position.

Rodriguez - 7 - clever movement but tired, we need someone of his ilk to come on after an hour and allow us to continue playing t the same way.

Subs
Barnes - 3 - would give lower if I could. Has been a great servant but past it and does not fit this system at all. The dive where he clung to the ball and got a handball against him was embarrassing.

Churlinov - 5- looked a bit lost and made the team weaker as Tella was doing a good job, but I assume hasn’t even trained with the team and am sure will be a good asset for us when he’s had some time.

Muric 5 Made three Pope style saves which gives me some hope. Very risky distribution which ultimately cost us. I love the quick movement of the ball and most of his passes are good. But you can't pass to a player under pressure on the edge of your own box. Still think he'll come good.
Roberts 5 On the evidence so far, I'd be playing Lowton.
THB 7 Great passes to Jay for the first and also to Tella. Solid. Needs a partner.
Taylor 5 Will benefit from a few games in his proper position. I'm hoping we end up with Maatsen as LW.
Vitinho 5 Too lightweight and deceptively slow. Rarely beat his man and no productive crosses. Haven't seen what he brings to the table as of yet.
Cullen 5 Uncharacteristically sloppy at times. The first Lashers goal was partially his fault though it was a hospital ball from Muric.
Brownhill 7 Smashed home a worldy and could have had two. The pick of the midfield.
Cork 6 Mostly okay but faded after the break as we were over tun by Blackpool
Maatsen 6 Still our most positive forward outlet, but terrible defending for their 2nd and his sending off cost us the win.
Tella 8 A fantastic half and then struggled after being injured. Needed him for the whole game. The start of a great partnership with JR
Jay 7 Good hold up play, a great layoff for the first. We lost all momentum when he went off.

Barnes 5 The game had changed direction before he came on, but he didn't help the cause. Struggles on his own.
Bastien 6 okay. Better than the last game.
Darko N/A Looked understandably lost. Why was he playing a little over a day after arriving? Not fair on the lad.
Benson N/A Much better than Hull. Looked like a livewire again. Think this will be his role though. Super-sub. Needs a target to aim for.

Overall, the most lopsided tail of two halves I have ever seen. First half I was on the edge of my seat. Second, I was hiding under it. We need to grow a lot to be successful this season. We should have locked up the shop at 3-1 and taken the points. It was all a bit Eddie Howe's Burnley without Charlie Austin to dig us out of a hole. One win in five is worrying, but when we're good we're damned good.
