Rangers tonight
Take the lead in Eindhoven after more p1ssing about at the back.
Identical to the goal we gave away on Saturday. Keeper plays a ball out to his CB, who has a worse touch than Cullen, Tillman nips in, robs him and lays it square for Colak to play into an empty net.
When will this madness end? Only the very best quality can handle it. 99% can’t.

BTW. Rangers have found a player in Tillman. A really bright American footballer.
Re: Rangers tonight

Re: Rangers tonight
Would you say Brighton have the very best quality? Why are they able to do it successfully? And they are just one example…Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:21 pmTake the lead in Eindhoven after more p1ssing about at the back.

I think it also has a lot to do with the quality of coaching.

Re: Rangers tonight
They might have had a good start this term but they conceded plenty last year with messing about and they are only 3 games in.

Re: Rangers tonight
Even the very very very best make mistakes playing this way, the mistakes are worth it for the great upside.

Re: Rangers tonight
You are right. There is absolutely no reason why an ever growing number of teams are playing it out from the back.
They should just f**king hump it up the field.

Re: Rangers tonight
Rangers through. A very good performance against as poor a PSV side as I’ve seen in a long time.
And yes Van Nistelrooy did have a long face at full time.

Pleased for Arfield tonight, don’t think he will be regretting his move there one bit.

There is playing it out from the back and P!ssing about with it because it is not the cool thing to do to lump it upfield anymore.2 Bee Holed wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:37 pmYou are right. There is absolutely no reason why an ever growing number of teams are playing it out from the back.

It doesn’t fit in with Vincent’s progressive football mantra.
I wouldn’t mind us playing it out from the back if our players were creating the space for others to run into to receive quality balls to create dangerous attacks. Alas this isn’t the case at present, we look vulnerable when we try and do it.
Re: Rangers tonight
Absolutely right. Only the very best can play like this. Most are just not good enough.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:21 pmTake the lead in Eindhoven after more p1ssing about at the back.

Re: Rangers tonight
You do realise you can play good football without taking unnecessary risks knocking it around from the keeper. It might be fashionable but it's not that or lump it. There are other ways.2 Bee Holed wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:37 pmYou are right. There is absolutely no reason why an ever growing number of teams are playing it out from the back.

Re: Rangers tonight
I've been told in this thread, that only 1% of teams can play it out from the back. I beg to differ, that's all.welsbyswife wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 10:51 pmYou do realise you can play good football without taking unnecessary risks knocking it around from the keeper. Re: Rangers tonight
Playing Tippy Tappy football at the back means you will get caught at some time , now we have been caught once and we will get caught again and again , it's just how it is .

Have to say I thought he was nearly finished when he left… seems to have had a second wind with the move up North.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 7:53 amWhat a career he's had after leaving us; a Europa cup final and now into the Champions League

Re: Rangers tonight
GVB has done a heck of a job at Ibrox, Gerrard laid the foundations, but GVB has taken Rangers to another level.
Must be a strong chance of at least one all British clash given both Celtic and Rangers are involved along with the 4 English teams,

Re: Rangers tonight
They were very impressive last night
Kept the ball really well, and created some good chances
Lawrence and Lundstrom really shone I thought, along with Long at the back
