Currently explaining how they have fixed the draw as requested by the TV companies so certain teams can’t play each other
Really can’t take this competition seriously

I live in Napoli so seeing Scotty Arfield at the Stadio Maradona will be quite surreal

Re: Champions League draw
A mere 55 years ago and you could have seen Burnley play in that stadium against the mighty Napoli and coming home after one of our greatest ever performances. We'd already beaten them 3-0 on the Turf in the first leg and then drew 0-0 in Italy in the away leg.
Some famous names on view for us including Brian Miller, Ralph Coates and Andy Lochhead, but the game will be forever remembered for a "God In A Green Jersey" performance from keeper Harry Thomson who had the game of his life including a penalty save.
Interestingly we then played Eintracht Frankfurt in the next round who also feature in one of the other groups in this season's draw.
Re: Champions League draw
Let the Scottish teams have their 6 games..
Re: Champions League draw
Is that the game where it all kicked off after the game, when some of the players got involved in a mass punch up?Royboyclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 7:25 pmA mere 55 years ago and you could have seen Burnley play in that stadium against the mighty Napoli and coming home after one of our greatest ever performances. Aye, that was the game.....basically the Italians couldn't take defeat and targetted our man of the match Harry Thomson. On the sidelines that day was Adam Blacklaw who came to Thomson's rescue only to be attacked by others including some stadium staff. Somehow we eventually made it back to the airport in one piece.
Re: Champions League draw
Liverpool drawn against Rangers and already the media are saying " the Battle of Britain " just like they did when we played Aberdeen. So do the winners get to play us ?
Re: Champions League draw
Liverpool Ajax Napoli Rangers
Can’t see what could go wrong there

Liverpool, Ajax, Napoli.
Might be a stretch for Rangers to get out of the group, but 3 fabulous away trips.

Re: Champions League draw
I never watch a champion’s league game until the final which is a good pee up on a Saturday night! Lost interest in it when domestic tv lost it gone with everything else.

Re: Champions League draw
Man City, despite being in Pot A, have probably the toughest draw of the English sides.
Quite funny.

Re: Champions League draw
The 2 Liverpool-Rangers games could be tasty affairs, just a pity that Gerrard is no longer in charge at Ibrox to add even more intrigue.
And I wouldn't rule out Rangers of coming through that group, they've produced some impressive results in Europe over the past 18 months.
Celtic will struggle though, and will likely be fighting it out for 3rd.
The 4 English sides should all ease through to the last 16.

Re: Champions League draw
Why does the champions league list look the most boring of the three?
