I must admit, I've seen no issue with him at CB all season, I think he's done well.

I agree, he's such a classy player and some of his passes particularly in very tight spaces are sublime.

A very very good player,we need him at the back.
Re: Charlie Taylor
Also thought BPF did well tonight. Another player to get behind.

Re: Charlie Taylor
Never understood those having a pop at Charlie. He’s been an outstanding performer for years
Re: Charlie Taylor
That save low down to his left was top drawer. Proper flung himself across the goal and it looked like it was sneaking in to me.

Re: Charlie Taylor
Taylor has been caught out a couple of times with the long ball over the top. It nearly happened again tonight although I’d argue THB would’ve been just as culpable.
Other than that, he was outstanding tonight.

Re: Charlie Taylor
I haven’t been negative during any match, but he’s not a centre back for me. He’s played well this season, but I’m comparing him to Ben and Tarky. We’ve been spoilt for a few years.
Re: Charlie Taylor
He's obviously not used to playing at CB and not used to this close passing game. But he is a very decent footballer and will get used to both.

Re: Charlie Taylor
Worst thing about Charlie Taylor as a CB? He ain’t Ben Mee.
Taylor has been excellent in his new role. Hardly put a foot wrong. Good on him I say. Hasnt stopped the utter belmtards gobbing off about how “he isn’t a centre half” tho….

Re: Charlie Taylor
He seems to be playing somewhere between CB and LB with THB playing a more central role mainly on his own. Doesn’t feel as if he’s just filling the Ben Mee role.

Re: Charlie Taylor
I can see that but I'm not sure it's because he is a natural left back or because VK is using an orthodox right winger and Tella is filling in as a second striker, which pulled Taylor and Cullen to to the left to help Vitinho out.dermotdermot wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 12:38 amHe seems to be playing somewhere between CB and LB with THB playing a more central role mainly on his own. Re: Charlie Taylor
Getting more and more comfortable in his new role. Tonight was his best game. Bodes well for us. Having Charlie playing at his best in this position is vital because it allows us to get all our best players on the pitch.
He’s never getting in at left back because of the offensive demands of that position in Kompany’s system.

Re: Charlie Taylor
While Taylor isn’t a CB he’s actually been perfectly decent . He’s at his best bombing down the wing ,putting crosses in and taking wingers right to the byline . None of which he can really do as a CB . The crowd seem to think he is allowed to take off down the wing still . Though much better last night

Re: Charlie Taylor
Sorry but he gets caught out of position and isn’t commanding in the air.
He’s been brilliant for us though. I’ll back him 100% at the games. And yes, his passing has been good this season.
Not unhappy with him. But looking at the first eleven and it’s definitely an area in which we can strengthen.

Most goals we have conceded have come from down our left side. But early days yet and Charlie may well become a very good CH.Matt_Whalley wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 9:26 amSorry but he gets caught out of position and isn’t commanding in the air.

Yep I’m prepared to give him time. Really like the bloke and he’s doing so many things right.
