Good move for him that. Then a League 1 club next season and see where he’s at after that.

Re: ARTICLE: Lewis Richardson goes to Grimsby
He's still here because he was sat just to my right last week at Leyland. I can only assume he's injured but apart from one short return, I reckon he's been out for not far short of a year now.

Pleased he’s got a loan move, will be keeping a close eye on how he gets on

Re: ARTICLE: Lewis Richardson goes to Grimsby
Can’t believe he’s only 19. It seems like we’ve been talking about him as the ‘next big thing’ for years now.
Hopefully he’s at a level where he’ll get some decent game time and start to fulfil some of that potential.

Cheers Tony...you'd suspect he's next in line, hopefully soon fit again with Richardsons departureClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:40 pmHe's still here because he was sat just to my right last week at Leyland. TBH was disappointed not to see him playing from the start of the season. No idea what the problem is.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:52 pmCheers Tony...you'd suspect he's next in line, hopefully soon fit again with Richardsons departure

Re: ARTICLE: Lewis Richardson goes to Grimsby
it's not easy being the star at 15, and he's had injury set-backs.
Let's hope he can push on from here.

Re: ARTICLE: Lewis Richardson goes to Grimsby
Could possibly be the new lad Marcel Lewis taking Richardson's spot in the short term. Looks like he was a 10 / attacking midfielder for Chelsea which is kind of the role Richardson has been playing for the U21s with McGlynn as more of the out and out striker.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:38 pmDefinitely needs some first team football - goodness knows who is going to play up front for the u21s now though - best of luck to him

Re: ARTICLE: Lewis Richardson goes to Grimsby
We obviously hope these loan spells are full of goals but it's just as important for him to get used to league football, the physicality, mental pressure of playing in front of crowds and the short turnaround of games.
He'll probably need a couple of years away to come back a man but this could just be the start of a long and successful career in the game.

Re: ARTICLE: Lewis Richardson goes to Grimsby
Glad for Richardson he's got a decent loan move, he's been on the scene for a few years now, but sadly his development has been stalled by a serious of niggling injuries.
Re: ARTICLE: Lewis Richardson goes to Grimsby
Like everyone has said just hope he can stay injury free. If being greedy I hope he does so well this first half of the season we can recall him and send him to League 1 for the second half.
Re: ARTICLE: Lewis Richardson goes to Grimsby
Gets his first pro goal away at Salford today.
