Tradesmen recommendations

Post by Boss Hogg » Tue Sep 06, 2022 4:10 pm

Please can anyone recommend any electricians and also any roofers in Pendle. Always best to get recommendations and also people to avoid.

For roofers I’ve been warned off colne valley roofing, Ross roofing and Kevin Craven. Some of the stuff you hear is unbelievable.

Thanks

I can't reccomend anyone over that way but a few tips for you.
Don't pay until happy with the Job.
Be clear with instructions and put it in writing.

Make the workers a brew everyday. Trust me it's worth it.

I used p
Padiham roofing last year and I would recommend them highly for the job they did.Stuck to the quote(inspite of a couple of problems I knew about but they didn't spot when quoting). The guys who did the job swept and cleaned up at the end of each workday and were very polite.
Oh and the "make them a brew" recommendation definitely agree with that one.

When I was Locksmithing customers always insisted I had a brew ... and some were offended if you didn't accept ... I was always busting for a bloody pee on my way to the next job 😏 so used to keep a bottle in the Van for Emergencies ...

Lancashire County Council trading standards run a website called Safe Traders. You can interrogate it for roofers. It also has facility for customers to write reviews of recent work.

I've used Calvert Pickles of Brierfield twice for roof repairs and they were good.
