Fidel. Ffs man at a time e like this why would you purposefully post the above. Regardless of you personal view you must surly recognise the significance of the queens passing? If you have any decency please let those who wish to use this board to offer their condolences do so without having to endure your crass comments

Re: Queen is dead
A very sad day indeed.
Having had the privilege to go inside the Palace to watch my mother decorated by her, I will admit a few tears.
It’s part of our country that a humble lass, the daughter of a gardener in a small village from Yorkshire can be honour by its great monarch . Only something a monarch can do, she was tireless in her duties. RIP.
God save the King.

Thank you so much to the mods who changed the title. Means a hell of a lot to our family who have a history of working at the palace for many years. She was a lovely lady who did much more than anyone could really understand.

R.I.P Queen Elizabeth.
A truely remarkable lady who lived a life in service of her people, in a world that changed so much since she became the monarch.

Quite agree. She did extremely well separating her Reign and her personal life, generally. For example The Dukes favourite place to stay in Lancashire was The Inn at Whitewell, and Elizabeth’s best friend lived in Clitheroe, who she often visited while ‘off duty,’ but neither was publicised.HitchinClaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 7:27 pmThank you so much to the mods who changed the title. Echo the sentiments already expressed. RIP. Agree about the Americanised thread title. Seems inappropriate. Passed away maybe. Or just died.

My friends mum went round to see an old lady she visited from time to time, the old lady answered the door and told my mates mum to come in while saying Betty's here.....she walked in and there she was sat in the armchair with a cup of tea in her hand.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 7:35 pmQuite agree. My mum has a similar tale (why I know), and I bumped into the Duke in the shop at the Inn at Whitewell… for a couple of minutes. Actually, I think this is the first time I’ve related that; I didn’t even tell the girl I was with that night, it was a private moment, and he was off duty.Cubanforever wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 7:57 pmMy friends mum went round to see an old lady she visited from time to time, the old lady answered the door and told my mates mum to come in while saying Betty's here.....she walked in and there she was sat in the armchair with a cup of tea in her hand.

As a lifelong Labour supporter I have to say that I have a great deal more respect for the Queen than I have for any Prime Minister during that period. She has been exemplerary as a head of state and led by example. RIP

I was at a wedding reception there some years ago, and met 2 young Americans staying there for a music festival. When I told the young lady that the hotel was owned by the Queen, she rushed straight to the door and phoned her mother in New Jersey to tell her ...

At times like this I really feel the benefit to my soul of being rooted in a strong sense of nation, the solidarity that comes from this is the glue that bonds us together, e.g. if the game goes ahead tomorrow fans of both sides will be raising glasses to Her Majesty while stood side by side which is so heartwarming. Throughout this period, and hopefully after, we should all make a real effort to get along and pull together for the country’s benefit.
RIP Your Majesty and Long Live The King.

Re: HRH Queen Elizabeth has passed.
I was born 2 weeks after her coronation. She has always been the constant, on an ever changing world.
I feel the loss, as others will. Why? Probably because she gave her life in our service. Yes there were perks but until the very last, she was completing yet another PM churn. Incredible.
The world has lost 'The Queen'.
Thank you your Majesty.

Just wish to add my sincere condolences to the Royal Family on the sad death of our longest reigning monarch.
We all knew this day would come eventually, but it still comes as a huge shock that it's actually happened.
