I like the queen and i have found her passing upsetting, but this is ridiculous.

People are going to be out of pocket. We can all moan collectively during a minute’s silence.

On balance the correct decision I feel, although it's an inconvenience to many including myself at least they've provided as much notice as they could in the unique circumstances.

Aside the sad reasons for this, it does make me wonder how quickly we will get this game rescheduled given the World Cup and if this follows through to the following weekend then we would have potentially 3 games to fit in.

If you want to stay at home and cry about the passing of someone you haven’t even met then fine, that is up to you, but we should have the choice. This is just my opinion of course and I am entitled to it just as you are entitled to spend the next ten days crying.

Same for everyone else though, and this is where our strength in depth might work to our advantage later in the season.

Unless there is a resurrection then any domestic sport in the next ten days is unlikely to go ahead as they want us to spend this time at home crying. But we still all have to go to work and pay our bills etc. obviously.

I don't I'd far rather be at TM tomorrow evening, and I may well lose money, and if the game had gone ahead I would certainly have attended, but once this news broke it was always likely to be postponed whether we like it or not.

Emotions are clearly running high on here tonight, for understandable reasons, but it's fine not to agree with decision. The Queen presided over a free society and democracy, after all.

At least they’ve announced it relatively quickly following the passing.

I fully expected it, as I said on the main ‘will it get cancelled’ thread, so whilst disappointed I’m not surprised. Ah well, it’ll come again - and we might be have a better/more settled team and a fit Scott Twine when the time comes too.

I would rather the country came to a stand still for the little girl who was shot not making double figures than a 96yr old that had a very privileged life!

Fully expected this but must admit, I don’t understand why sport is the thing that stops.

We all go to work, Tescos, Primark et all will all be open with the tills ringing, pubs will all be open, TV shows will be broadcast and films will play in cinemas…..why does sport stop?

It was inevitable.

My only surprise is that some people are surprised at such an outcome.

This isn’t a tragedy - it’s a completely different thing. The nearest thing in living memory was Diana (who by then wasn’t even a Royal) and the Sunday games were postponed.

For some people, football is a far more meaningful and important part of life than the Queen and Royal Family.

It's actually okay not to want to mourn someone you've no personal connections to, just as it's okay for people to do so.

Indeed - no argument with the decision under the circumstances. However, would hope this applies to the whole weekend programme otherwise it would create added fixture congestion for ourselves and Norwich purely on the basis that our game was brought forward for TV coverage

It’s fine to disagree but some of the comments are rude at best and damn right insulting at worst. It’s like this on the vast majority of the threads and it’s becoming boring reading this forum which must be annoying to hear if you are a sure editor after Ash the work that goes in to running this site.

Mourn if you want to, but don't cancel all leisure activities. That's an equally acceptable view.

They haven’t cancelled all leisure activities. And it’s precisely because football teams mean more to people, representing a town and a people, that it’s important they’re seen to be doing the right thing.

When you are 30 - you think you were a dick when you were 20 and say so....

When you are 40 you think you were a dick when you were 30 and say so...

Eventually, you just accept yourself for what you are but keep your trap shut so no one else knows.

This is one of those times when it's just best to think stuff and not say it - we are a nation not a bunch of individuals.

Or at least I hope we are...!
