With the injuries at the back, it's a bloody good job we got hold of him.
Looks very good.

He looks assured and more than willing to run into space
Re: Beyer
From what I've seen of him so far, he looks very comfortable at the back.
Not an ounce of settling in, or adapting to English League so far. Definitely looks to have the ability, lets hope it continues long term.

Proper defender that lad, massive fan already! Whilst we look shaky at the back, I just think it’s our shape and we will settle.
It’s Muric and Robert’s I have reservations about

Re: Beyer
I was extremely impressed. He reminded me a bit of Ben Mee as he was far more comfortable and dominant in the air, but this version can also play a bit too. A brilliant and somewhat understated performance imo.

Re: Beyer
He got caught a bit for the goal and other set plays I thought, but that's just adapting to English football. In open play he was excellent. Touch of the Steve Davis's in the way he carried the ball I thought (although he's clearly a better player than Davis ever was).

First full match and not used to playing in the Wnglish leagues.. New team, new colleagues and he fitted in and had a very good game. Will he displace Charlie - who could play at left back?

Re: Beyer
For me, despite his great efforts in central defence, Charlie will always be a full back.
He's at least now got serious competition.

When back fit, Taylor can now move to the left at the back
Maatsen is good going forward but gets caught way upfield too often for defensive duties - the better teams will play on this during the season
Hopefully Jackson, as defensive coach, can persuade VK on this

That’s my conclusion as well in terms of positions covered , Charlie at left back would make us more solid i feelElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 8:36 pmFor me, despite his great efforts in central defence, Charlie will always be a full back.

We have been spoiled in recent years with Heaton and Pope but I don’t think we have yet played against a better keeper than Muric. He may have a rush of blood now and then but has made many great saves.

for someone so young to come from a different country and fit into the system so effortlessly is superb. i think he looks a real find. i think it will be a blessing in disguise the CT is injured.

Re: Beyer
Beyer apparently has a buy option should we go up (no idea on the fee). THB I’m sure we’d try to do a deal for with City and Maatsen will find it difficult at Chelsea behind Chilwell and Cucarella, so you never know - guess it all depends on the fees. We might want to improve in that area anyway, don’t forget we can make two loans in the PL too.

His interview after the Bristol City game is broken on Clarets+. You can click on it but it doesn't work.
Don't think it's been pulled, just broken.
Did he mention anything to suggest why it could have been pulled?

Re: Beyer
Of course it is ok to worry about the rush of blood. He is not perfect, he is not Nick Pope, otherwise he would be a premier league goalkeeper
Still better than most, if not all, in Championship

Had I said "ich kann Dir garantieren, dass.....", then the verb ist would come at the end. I have used conversational German which does not need to have the verb at the end of the clause.

Re: Beyer
OK.
I'm interested in what he has to say.
I've a feeling it depends, as anywhere, on how formal the conversation is.
I prefer the implied dass, the more formal version.
As we know, conversational language tends to ignore quite a few rules.... Take any of Jakub's posts, for example.

Eddie, just had a quick word with Peter, he said my German sentence was fine, though did say he wouldn't have used that phrase. No doubt he may have used something more 'German'.

Fair enough, an interesting debate. I love the language.
I did it at A level and its come in handy in Austria....
A complete dud at French, though, hardly a word.
