Maybe. But he's right. I don't watch international football and Southgate is a main contributor why.

I think Gareth will be starting to feel the heat, and rightly so.

We’ve been fairly awful since the Euro final.

Well, that was dreadful.
But I'm not really bothered. I, like (I suspect) most of us on here, and indeed most English football fans, put their club far in front of their country.

Not the result we wanted but I've seen enough tonight to convince me we have a real chance of winning the World Cup in Qatar.

Southgate has been a master at getting his England teams to peak when it matters and it feels like its gonna happen again.

Even though we've had 'success' it's just somehow soulless.

7 (SEVEN) and a half hours since England last scored from open play.

This is the story of Southgate's England.

Didn’t need much resting as your argument was as weak as it gets. 7 hours of not being able to score in open play. Relegated bottom of the table in the nations lge with a game to spare. Regardless of whether its a meaningful tournament or not. All things being equal we have performed the worst of all teams participating, we are not progressing . There is no identifiable style - shape - plan or tactics.

And your assessment is Gareths the man and has it in hand.! It’s not my judgement that’s in question..

If you accredit major semi-final and final appearances as luck then you’ve already lost the argument. If we’d have won that final you no doubt would also be claiming he was lucky. Strangely not many people say that Ramsay was lucky.
Look back at them two finals and tell me how many matches were close to good performances? Apart from the one big win, against Paraguay I think, we were bang average.
These players all play better than this for their club sides that is down to GS. All his playing career he was a loser and he has carried that into his managerial career. Talks a good game but can’t coach it.

Maybe go back to 3 right backs for the next game?

Still, at least Maguire kept his 100% record up for the season.

Hungary won the group, joke of a competition. Poor football, thought both sides were dull as shite. Boring game, Germans were poor too. England have been a boring side to watch since I was born, nothing will change, at least keep the manager with the best international major tournament record and try bore our way through it.

If players are out of form , isn't it up to manager to pick the players inform or at least play them in the correct position . Maguire , Dier and Shaw should be no where near this squad.

The Euro's was fantastic and once Southgate gets things going in Qatar the country will be gripped once again.

I just feel sorry for the poor souls willing us to fail who wont allow themselves to enjoy our success cos of the ridiculous position they have taken over Southgate and his successful tenure as the manager of our national team

1 goal in 5 NL games, and that was a penalty, England for some reason have failed to kick on from that Euro campaign.

Serious questions for GS to answer before the WC, and on that display England will be nowhere near in Qatar,

He's simply sucking the life out of this England side, and I don't blame the travelling fans for expressing their frustration.

Bellingham the one shining light amongst many under par performances.

Southgate deserves to be given the WC based on his past successes, but the build-up has hardly been ideal.

These players (although not all of them) play better for their club sides for a number of reasons and they’re not even difficult to consider. Firstly they are playing alongside better players. Do you think Foden would prefer to play alongside his England team mates or Bernardo Silva and KDB? Secondly, players train with their clubs almost every day, for hours at a time. Thirdly, their club managers and staff are better, because the best coaches work in club football and are paid more for it.

How many goals has Kane got for England?

Maybe get someone to get the ball into the box, especially when 1-0 down.

The history books will show Southgate as a good England manager. Never trust history books for facts.

Just stop drinking Rileybobs as its not helping you put forward any sort of logical counter argument. If youve not been drinking try giving your head a wobble. Still no luck - make sure you didn’t watch the Germany v Hungary game it was the same result. - if none of that helps or any of the above does not account for your logic. May i suggest crown green bowls as a sport deserving of your analytical critique..

Southgate should go, he should never have had the job in the first place.

I know it isn't going to happen now, but we are so poor, and boring to boot.
His team talks must have players nodding off before they leave the dressing room.
I'm not sure we have a 'plan', it looks more like he picks 11 players, and just puts them on the pitch to make it up as they go along.
Some of the players are so out of form they can't play for their clubs, but even if they did, we aren't a team. We play like a bunch of strangers.
Awful, boring, useless football. Again and again.
