Don't let the b@stards grind you down Ian...I'm with you all the way....come home soon.😉
What's a plastic Jock by the way? Serious question
Born in England , thinks he is a Scot = plastic Jock. ie Rod Stewart,Bruce Rioch

Born in Scotland, think they are Irish = plastic paddy. Most Celtis fans

Congrats to Scotland and Wales women on their WC qualification wins last night, both had to battle hard to eke out 1-0 ET victories over Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina sending them one step closer to the WC.

Mind you don't ask me to explain the qualification process because it's damned complicated.

Simple fact is Scotland play ROI at Hampden. while Wales face a tricky trip to Switzerland, wins in those games will likely see both at next years finals, but it is dependent on other factors.

Over 10,000 at Hampden, and over 15,000 at Cardiff, proving once again that the appetite is continuing to grow for the women's game.

You are right Tiger....very complicated. King way to go for the countries, other than England. Backing financially is only recent.

10000 was superb. I was in Scotland yesterday and charged at Eurocentral. The rain was lashing, to the point where visibility was poor. I am surprised that 10 braved it, let alone 10k!

Proving absolutely nothing, other than by hyping stuff up on BBC and pricing tickets cheaper than watching Padiham...and dishing out free tickets in local schools and to nearly every football club in the land, you can achieve an attendance around half that a second tier club from Lancashire gets over 20 times a season from games against the likes of Luton and Rotherham.

And yet, I chose to watch Eng vs USA over QPR vs Reading tonight. Not for any other reason than I was more interested and invested in the game. I think I chose pretty well too - beats cheering for a draw. Lucy Bronze was v impressive but Lauren Hemp is my kind of player - reminiscent of Martin Paterson at his best.

Time to embrace the womens' game.
It may even earn BFC some money soon.

76,000 at Wembley for that friendly as well that's not a bad crowd on a chilly October evening.

23 games unbeaten playing the Sarina Wiegman way for England, and last night was a real statement win for all those who claimed England only beat 2nd rate opponents.

A post by the brainwashed.

Scotland would be much wealthier than England and no tories, either! Just look at how PEOPLE are helped in Scotland and how the wealthy are helped in England.

Scotland has been robbed of its assets, despite never voting tory.
I take it you do not get the Irony of complaining to Burnley fans about Tory asset stripping? The North West was being exploited when Glasgow still relied on Tobacco imports… we were late to England (having been part of Scotland and Wales during England’s early incarnations as a nation, Wales after Alfred the Great had ‘unified England’). The attitude the South has to the North did not arrive with Maggie Thatcher…

Really not getting through here.

Yes... Hype an "elite" game up enough and you'll fill up any stadium in the land twice over with folk who buy into it..but there's more to football than the bbc's marketing of a tiny handful of elite clubs.

If anything ever qualified for the "" all fur coat and no knickers "" tag, it's womens football a la BBC.

It's not that you're not getting through, you just aren't persuasive. Plenty of people are interested in watching women's football. It's OK that you aren't one of them.

Women's football is finding itself in a very difficult position currently. I understand an emergency meeting has been called at the FA this weekend to address the problem that 76,000 were interested enough to attend last night's match but they haven't yet won over fatboy47.

Quality reposte dave 😂

My feeling though, in all honesty, is that you'd probably get 75k into a knitting match if you created enough nationalistic fervour around it.

Yes, Ireland rode their luck last night and on chances created Scotland should have won, typical Scottish manner to exit a tournament they beat a decent Austrian side ranked above them in the rankings then contrive to lose to an Irish side who are still developing as an international team.

Miss gilt edged opportunities such as the early penalty and you sense it's going to be one of those nights.

Congrats to Ireland and it should provide a welcome boost to the women's game over there.

Fantastic win for the girls in green, and very fitting that the goal should be scored by a Donegal lass, spoke brilliantly after the game. COYGIG!
