Team v Cardiff

Post by tiger76 » Fri Sep 30, 2022 9:26 am

Couldn't see a thread so here goes.

Muric
Roberts
THB
Bayer
Maatsen
Cullen
Cork
Zaroury
Brownhill
Tella
Jay

Bench should contain the likes of Benson, JBG, and Dervisoglu if we need to change things up later in the proceedings.

If Taylor is fit I think he’ll come back in for Beyer.

JBG or Benson rather than Zaroury

Ironically if Taylor is fit I wouldn't put him back in for Beyer. Beyer was excellent last game and if I brought Taylor in at all I might be tempted to play him at left back to tighten things up, especially as we're playing away.

Taylor
Maatsen
Cork
Cullen
Benson
Brownhill
Tella
Rodriguez

Roberts played 2x 90 minutes in the international break so give him a rest and try Beyer in that role (assuming CT is fit).

I don't think resting an ex Swansea player against Cardiff will go down right well with the player.

Good point! He is a proper Swansea die hard too so he’ll be well up for it.

VK is extremely cautious when it comes to fitness and return from injury so it would not surprise me if he's on the bench.

Beyer was good I agree, hugely at fault for the goal though.

On what basis should Taylor be back in?? He's not a centre half and beyer was one of our better players against Bristol.

I think he picked that team out of a hat. We're gonna switch to a 3 CB formation (despite doing incredibly well with 4), put Lowton at CB, Gudmundsson at right wing back, ignore Bensons good work on the right he's on the left, Rodriguez no longer at striker he's right of a front 3 instead. We're also gonna drop one of the most important players to the system in Cullen and the guy Maatsen who the system benefits the most. Madness

Muric
Roberts THB Beyer Maatsen
Cork Cullen
Benson Brownhill Tella
Dervisoglu

I watched both of Turkey's games in the international break, Dervisoglu started against Luxembourg and came on at the end in their embarrassing loss against Faroe Islands. He's sharp, great with the ball in tight areas.

I like vitinho as a defender over Roberts.

Think we need to go younger up front.

Probably something like this. Think we’ll see JBG at some point if fit and Zaroury.

More experience, more physicality, left footed, has done nothing wrong all season…

That seems by far the most likely with great options from the bench

You only get experience by playing, and in my opinion you should play players in there position, but I would play Taylor on left, either fullback or wingback.
