Air Fryers
Air Fryers
I seem to recall and I think its Steve1956 and Claret Tony who use these bits of kit, a thread on Airfryers possibly Ninja or similar ... I would appreciate a recomendation or two as to which are good and which to avoid ... as my Mrs is fancying one of these and I thought I might treat her for Crimbo ...

We have a Ninja 🥷 and it’s awesome, can’t remember the exact model but you can fry, grill, bake, reheat etc in it! We very rarely use the oven now so it’s also saving us money…

Re: Air Fryers
Funnily enough my son has recently told us we should get one, he has a Ninja, says they’re so quick and cook lovely, did a whole chicken apparently and said it was really well cooked. Did himself a bacon butty, taste was brilliant. They make little pizzas for the children and cook full of taste. We’re certainly going to look at buying one.

Re: Air Fryers
We’ve got a Tefal air fryer. It’s the second one we’ve had.
It’s only a single compartment and mostly used for chips, roast pots and chicken
The Mrs_w m has a dual drawer Tower one and loves it

We have a Ninja Dual Zone and it isn't just an Air Fryer.
There are various modes and I have a Pasta Bake and Garlic Bread currently on the go.
Two volumous cooking drawers that you can sync to finish different modes and settings at the same time.

Re: Air Fryers
We have this one too and it’s been a good buy.
Also worth noting that apparently they are much more efficient than ovens when it comes to energy consumption. So if ever there was a time to get one……

Re: Air Fryers
I bought a 10l Uten air fryer off Amazon in August to replace a basic basket Tower airfryer that stopped working
It's the type with the glass door and shelves, also a rotating basket and rotisserie thing for chickens.
Previously I used to use a combination of oven and air fryer, since I bought this one my oven had been redundant.
Highly recommended

Re: Air Fryers
A timely thread, I am off to get a new kitchen measured up tomorrow - should I have an oven put in?!
What Ninja would be recommended for cooking for 2 people cooking? How do you cook say chips and a roast at the same time if there is only one compartment on the cylindrical ones???

I work for Ninja (SharkNinja), it's primeday on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. If you are after a
Ninja Multi-Cooker/Air-grill have a look as probably the best price you are going to get for a while.
If you want a Ninja Air-Fryer (or even another make) their is a national shortage, as Air-Fryer demand has increase massively due to energy crisis as people save money compared to a conventional oven. Suggest you buy when you see the model in stock as hard to find.
Hope this helps.

Re: Air Fryers
Loads of different review sites out there and it comes down to personal preference as well as budget. I am obviously biased, however I do think the Ninja are the best in the market, not the cheapest though. Depends on what you want.

I wanted a Ninja 2 drawer one for when my kitchen was ripped out (which is now) but there were none in stock anywhere. Managed to get the Tower 2 drawer instead and it’s brilliant and £100 cheaper. Air Fryers are excellent!

Pot noodles are the answer to the energy crisis. Just boil a cup full of water. No ninja or oven required. Several flavours to choose from. B&M bargains. 50p each.

Re: Air Fryers
They’re decent enough for some things but they certainly don’t turn out proper roasties. They’re useful to have though.
I’ve not used it yet but our new oven has one built in. Not sure if it will be as energy efficient or not but I wanted to start clearing the work tops of all the gadgets, got far too many things taking up space.
Boiling water tap next to get rid of the kettle, I think.

Re: Air Fryers
The air fryer is the best bit of kit I’ve bought for the kitchen in years. It is now used mot meals and has replaced the microwave for at least 70% of its former functions, in our house. A doddle, quick, easy to clean and economic. Our oven thinks it has become a hob 90% of the time… Couldn’t recommend one enough, love ours.
Re: Air Fryers
I think it's also perfect for lazy cooks - people who are likely to order a takeaway because they can't be arsed to pre-heat the oven and keep checking to see if it's ready or not. With the Ninja Foodi you set it and turn it on while you get back to whatever you were doing. I lost 25 pounds in 7 weeks by using it.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 1:32 pmThe air fryer is the best bit of kit I’ve bought for the kitchen in years. I cut down to eating twice a day and the Ninja cooked everything in around 15 minutes.
Air Fry is pretty much used 95% of the time on mine. Chicken, chicken kievs, chops, steaks, waffles, burgers... loads of things that can be cooked. Bang them in and the only thing you need to do then is to slam it on your plate. sorted.
Re: Air Fryers
Can't agree ... I love haggis its the Neaps that are disgusting ... Tatties yeah but Neaps never ...
A good malt and a bit of haggis mmmm.

We have TEFAL ActiFry Genius XL 2in1 YV970840 Health Air Fryer, Black, 1.7kg, 8 Portions
Brilliant, cook two things at once, fish and chips for example. Chips cook first then keep warm while the second layer goes in and cooks at the top. Really is a top air fryer. Researched it in depth first, do that with everything, false economy not to.

Our Ninja does fantastic roast potatoes, you just need to know how to do them.DCWat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 1:24 pmThey’re decent enough for some things but they certainly don’t turn out proper roasties. They’re useful to have though.

Pre boil the spuds, let them cool, fluff them in a colander and add a small amount of olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Then air fry for about 20-25 minutes shaking them half way through.

Im with you until the add a small amount of olive oil bit.Zlatan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 9:28 pmOur Ninja does fantastic roast potatoes, you just need to know how to do them.

Now if you’d gone on to say sprinkle with flour (or semolina) place them in an already piping hot baking tin of goose fat and roast for an hour at about 230, I’d have agreed
They’re OK in an air fryer but they’re an obviously healthy substitute for the read deal. Same with air fryer chips - they’re OK but they don’t beat a good old fashioned chip pan.

Re: Air Fryers
Haha lolz
If you cook from scratch you can easily double the calories of a pot noodle for you 50p budget and vastly improve flavour and nutrient content. If you double the calories you'd be down to 25p/serving.
