Yellow for THB.
Re: Sunderland vs Burnley Match Thread
I think that could be the last we see of Barnes. He is a detriment to the team. He offers absolutely nothing. It's not the lack of goals it's just that he stops the team keeping possession of the ball.
He has been a great servent to the club but he cannot play again.

Until today I've said he deserved a shot. Seeing him win the ball and then dive onto it for no discernible benefit has changed my mind.Raconteur wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 4:15 pmI think that could be the last we see of Barnes. Are you listening on the radio or just following the thread?Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 4:01 pmHe dived the wrong way for the first goal, like he did at Watford.
For the 2nd he let a shot in from 10 yards that was very close to him.
He just hasn't got any goalkeeper instincts in him.
He had to anticipate and chose to go to his right hoping the left footed player would chose to go back across him. Traore had so much time to choose!
As for the second his line of sight is blocked by Roberts.

I've always rated him.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 4:12 pmAll I heard over the summer on here was how awful BPF was.
Strange how fickle fans can be.
Certainly better than Muric.

He has made great contributions.
And, whilst I'd say it was unfair to single him out in a poor first half, reckon your right.
His time has come.

Dan Neil is the lad we had a look at yeah? Maybe even put an offer in.
Been the best player on the pitch.

Re: Sunderland vs Burnley Match Thread
We’ve said this before though. I’d love to know what the manager sees in him that he thinks will change. It won’t. He wouldn’t cut at league 1 level now. He’s league 2 at best. Absolute waste of a starting place in the 11.

2-2.
This is what happens when we play with eleven players and not ten.

Re: Sunderland vs Burnley Match Thread
Can anyone do a bit of math after this game, for points won/lost when Ash hasn’t been on the pitch? It genuinely feels CRITICAL to the results this season - and that cannot be coincidence.
Come on, we can win it.

Good save Muric.
Re: Sunderland vs Burnley Match Thread
Is there something in his contract that he has to play so many minutes or we owe him money ? Why he wasn't sacked for the drink driving is a mystery. Sean looked after him.

Benny can be a game changer from the bench. Similar impact to the Millwall game.
Re: Sunderland vs Burnley Match Thread
I’d be tempted to bring both Jay and Cork on here.
