6 out of the next 8 at home - how many points?
With trips to Sheff Utd and QPR in the middle.
Just for fun, predict how many points you think we’ll get from the next 8 games.
I’ll say 14

Hmm! we don't lose many, but equally we have fallen into an annoying habit of drawing too many for my liking.
18 for me 5 wins and 3 draws which from those fixtures would be a good haul.

I think the games will catch up with us, we are getting a bit threadbare, and the key players that we simply cannot play without ( Cork and Jay ) they just can't be expected to keep up with the schedule

I presume if he has no setbacks that Westwood will give us cover in the centre of the park after the world cup break but the number nine position is crucial and we have no obvious go-to replacement.
As for the original question, anything around or above two points per game will be excellent, we are where we are in the table having played nine of our sixteen games away from home which is a brilliant points total.

Don't think we should get ahead of ourselves. 5 games till the world cup break and they are tricky. Take 8 points from those to be 37 from 21 before a 4 week bonus training block and we'll be sitting in a position most of us would have snapped hands off for pre season.Goody1975 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 11:50 amI presume if he has no setbacks that Westwood will give us cover in the centre of the park after the world cup break but the number nine position is crucial and we have no obvious go-to replacement.

We should be stronger after the world cup and not just because Westwood and others will be back, although that will help. For most of the squad it's basically another pre season to work on stuff.

Plenty of points to pick up with every game very winnable. But I don't like to think games ahead, it's all about the next one.

Beat norwich and we win them all
Re: 6 out of the next 8 at home - how many points?
Obviously a good chance to continue our run but some tricky games in there. Us and Norwich the only Champ game midweek too so Reading have extra prep time compared to us for the weekend.

I agree about not getting ahead of ourselves, we have a tough run of fixtures but we are countering that with the number of them that are at home.claretspice wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 1:22 pmDon't think we should get ahead of ourselves. 5 games till the world cup break and they are tricky. If possible we would like to remain unbeaten and Tuesday is a tough game, we must prevent them from getting a supply line to Pukki.

Nah.Norwich are overrated. Even their own fans are saying it. People judge them from their past tendency to be a yoyo team but they aren't quite as on it so far this season.Goody1975 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 1:34 pmI agree about not getting ahead of ourselves, we have a tough run of fixtures but we are countering that with the number of them that are at home.

They will likely come to play like Swansea did and I foresee a similar outcome albeit maybe not as convincing a scoreline. I think Reading will be the tougher game for us.
As for points....18. 5 wins and 3 draws. Hard to predict a loss at the moment as we just don't look like losing. The last few minutes at Birmingham being the most worried I've been as we were rocking once they had equalised. Yes 2 down at Sunderland but there were 45 minutes to turn it round against a very average Sunderland.
