Norwich and Reading game in Marbella

Post by Garnerssoap » Sun Oct 23, 2022 3:04 pm

Any tips . Staying between Marbs and Banus so can get to either. Champions league Tuesday so might struggle at the usuals - portside and linekars. Was wondering if there’s a dedicated clarets bar anywhere like the one in Benalmadina.

Where's the one in Benalmadena ? I'll be there when the Rotherham game is played

O'Grady's Irish pub, Pouerto Banus is a great bar and a few screens showing the games ...

Our Bar Cala Honda we had both Coventry and Sunderland games in full with no problems because only two Premier games on same kick off time.

Cheers for the tips guys. I’m on the push iron so might be a bit wobbly coming back from calahonda or benal if we beat the tractor jockeys. O’Gradys is looking the favourite I can kip on the beach at Victors if I get tired.

Why are you bothered about watching Norwich v Reading when you’re in Marbella…..

There's a sports bar on the dual carriage way to the west of Puerto Banus, a short distance past San Pedro, place called Bena Vista. There's a bowling green behind the sports bar - I think the two are independent businesses - that is run (was run?) by a guy with a Burnley FC connection (don't recall what, I don't think he was a player...). Last time I was around there the sports bar had several tvs - and, if not on in the sports bar the bowling club is worth checking out - though I don't think the tv they had was a particularly big screen.

Good luck.

Yes you are right Paul but just a heads up to save any possible embarrassment the two bars you mention Los Arcos and Green Bar were run by well known lifelong Claret supporter Hughie Holgate who unfortunately died some months ago.

Thanks for passing on the sad news, Marbella. RIP Hughie Holgate.

Looks like Garnerssoap has lots of good choices.

Sorry to hear about Hughie. Many thanks for all the advice much appreciated although I do think some of you have me down as Lance Armstrong though. The drugs I can do but it is still 26 degrees here and my allocated machine has a shopping basket on the front.
