Here’s to you Vincent Kompany

Post by Milltown1882 » Tue Oct 25, 2022 9:56 pm

All aboard the VK revolution. I was one of the most vocal doubters over the summer but what a job this guy is doing. UTC.

Top of the league.

Brand new squad.

We have something very, very special here. Savour it.

I'm on this train, have been since the first half against Huddersfield. He's created a team and a half here.

I was a bit skeptical upon appointment but was always going to be entirely behind whoever the gaffer was.

As above, when I was watching the Huddersfield game I couldn't believe what I was witnessing, you just knew then something special was brewing.

He's doing brilliantly - long may it continue

Dervisoglu also looks to have some swagger about him 👍

Never doubted it. There's not a side in this league better than Burnley. I've said it for months.

VK train to promotion town?

Long way to go but there’s still a lot more to come from this team.

Hopefully we will add one or two in January to help the push.

Still Twine and Churlinov to enter the fray yet!

Doing an absolutely outstanding job so far. A class act on and off the pitch who has rejuvenated the club.

After the Newcastle game the whole club was deflated, however Kompany has brought back the good times incredibly quickly.

Nothing is won in October but we're looking stronger by the game so kudos to Vinny for that.

Incredible that he hasn’t even had (probably) his best signing available and he has lead a new team to just 1 defeat in over a third of a season of a league that is new to him. How many Burnley managers have a record as good as this in their first 18 cup and league games in charge. I would guess at none in our history.

Mullen possibly back in the Division 4 days, but he had the basis of a promotion winning squad when he took the reins, whereas Kompany has had to effectively mould a squad from scratch.

Being pragmatic about all this. I backed Pace right from the off, a complete change of direction in every way. The nay sayers were more than vocal. I did not agree with Dyche getting potted, thought and still think the world of him. That said... Jackson nearly nearly kept us up. As soon as I knew VK was near I was excited and knew this would be a real quality appointment. Young ambitious manager who is very good friends and has been mentored by one of the best managers of all time, was always going to bode well.
The football is superb.
The fight is unreal.... Just look at Sunderland. We now win games we would have otherwise struggled.
All aboard....... The Vincent Kompany Express.....

Mullen got 15 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat in his first 18 games. Including what I believe is still the record of 9 consecutive away wins, though one of them (against Aldershot) ultimately didn't count for anything when they went bust.

Ahh yes good old Jimmy had a great start too. With this being 2 levels of the pyramid higher along with the turnover of staff it is definitely the best start at this level and it very much feels like we’re still in 2nd gear tbh.
