Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
I know he time wasted and annoyed the Burnley fans last night but he was Rotherham's best player last night young, strong, fast and good with the ball at his feet, did a great job of keeping Annas quiet- worth a cheeky bid me thinks?
I believe he played Right Wing back and created their first goal..............

Funny how different people see the game differently......I thought Zaroury very rarely got the better of him all night....and going forward he looked a threat too....I think there was one point in the 2nd half where he literally walked through 3 of our playersLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 9:50 amHe didn't get close to Annas all night

He was excellent for Rotherham, completely marked Zanoury out of the game in the 1st half. Rotherham had clearly worked out what a threat he could be and man marked him.

Not sure about that, Zaroury could have had 2 assists first half (one slide back to Tella and one that Jay flicked a header just wide). Start of the second half Zaroury skinned him and put a lovely ball in which JBG made a mess of from 6 yards.Burnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 10:02 amHe was excellent for Rotherham, completely marked Zanoury out of the game in the 1st half. I sit in the JHU, and second half he didn't get close to Anas at all
I thought Zaurory started slowly, but grew into the game, and he could easily have had a few assists by the end

I thought he had a decent game, did far better than Arrons in trying to contain Zaroury.

It was a very good battle between the two of them all night - he dealt with Zaroury reasonably well but there were also occasions where Z did him. Good tussle.

Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Zaroury had him second half but he did have a torrid time first half. The Rotherham right back had the better of him almost all half when Zaroury chose to go down the line. Perhaps tiredness set in, but the crosses were going in from all angles second half.

Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Brownhill marked Zaroury out of the game second half, why he kept drifting over and stopping the Maatsen/Zaroury flowing movement I do not know, just made the area where in the first half we had most joy totally clogged up and ended up having us play at pedestrian pace instead of leaving it for Maatsen to bomb forward

Thought Zaroury had the better of him all night. Problem was, certainly second half, his final ball/ delivery into the box. That's an area he needs to work on.

Time after time Zaroury beat him ll game, both left and right foot, from deeper and from the byline, and put superb balls into the danger area, it was our lack of numbers in the box when doing so that often made them look bad crosses, when they were anything but.

Zaroury's crosses, particularly in the first half weren't up to the standard we've come to expect from this talented young lad.
But to say he was well marked is stretching it a bit, otherwise how would he have got those (relatively) poor crosses in?
Over the last few games Zaroury's play has been 9/10, but tonight a disappointing 8/10.

Burnley V Rotherham
That Casper bloke looks good. Maybe put in a bid?
No chance! He's bloody useless.

Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Their no 10 had an excellent game.
He definitely tired in the second half and was beaten a few times by Zaroury.
I’m not sure it’s fair to say that he didn’t get near to Zaroury in the second half. Yes he got beaten a few times but he kept on going and was also driving forward with a few great runs which also meant he was struggling to contain Zaroury at points in the game. But Zaroury was also struggling to contain him. I thought it was a really good battle between them.
I love Zaroury but his end product was not great last night and he kept on over hitting that whipped cross he tries into their keepers arms.
Rotherham’s no 10 put in a perfect cross for their first goal and we know that Zaroury nor any other burnley player was anywhere near him when putting the cross in.

Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
I liked him.
Zaroury will get the better of most opponents this season but the 10 did a bit of a job on him first half.
Not every Zaroury cross is perfect but there’s been at least 2 or 3 in the last two games that have have gone across the 6 yard box and where a striker should be.

Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Cross for the first goal was a peach, and he did really well to get into that position - he was quicker to see the opportunity than Maatsen or many others on our side were to see the danger.
He did OK against Zaroury I thought, bearing in mind how many opportunities Zaroury had to run at him - but Zaroury managed to get 18 crosses in last night, which is a staggering number, and on another night he'd have had 3 assists - one for Tella when he slid him in first half, one for Jay with a lovely inswinging delivery right on half time, and one for I think JBG early in the second half with a wonderful left footed delivery which begged to be headed in only for the ball to slide off his head (keeper saved at his back post in the end I think). He also nearly scored with an audacious cross-shot that caught the keeper out and forced a save.
All in all, that's a pretty reasonable return and if that's Zaroury being in someone's pocket, I'll take that every time.

I thought the contest between him and Zaroury was a really good one and looked to me like two quality players trying to get the better of each other. Fairly even overall I thought ...both looked very good players.
Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
I preferred their left back, think he was the one sent off, rapid pace.

But I would say that the 18yr old player stuck to his task very well. Plenty of the crosses from Zaroury were hurried owing to the effort put in by Norton-Cuffy.

Rotherham RFB certainly had the better of Zaroury in the 1st half he rarely got past him, cracking player for an 18 year old
Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
It was a decent cross, but it wasn't as special as some people are making out. It looks far better because the box is empty and we aren't marking the goalscorer. Put a defender near him and he doesn't win the header let alone score the goal.

Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Norton Cuffy put so much effort in stopping Zaroury he had to sit on the turf regularly for a rest. It may have been a different outcome if he hadn't got away with it.
Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
He's just signed for Coventry on loan, so Zaroury will be having his second battle of the season against him on the Turf next week. Wonder if he will have learned from his appalling time wasting from that evening.

Re: Rotheram No 10 Brooke Norton-Cuffy
I thought he did ok against Zaroury that night, especially in the first half. Zaroury had the measure of him in the second half.
As a Claret I would rather Zaroury faces Brooke Norton-Cuffy than Dabo who was Coventry's right back at The Ricoh. From what I remember Zaroury really struggled against him.
