Barnes
Top off to come on - then disappeared down the tunnel before any substitutions are made.
Be interesting to see if he plays midweek !

Re: Barnes
Seemed passed off when sat with training top off then apparently disappeared down the tunnel. Sounds ominous. If he has stormed off then we rightly won't see him again.

Re: Barnes
Such a shame if he stormed off,he's been fantastic for us over the years and I would love him to leave on good terms if he has to leave us.. deserves better than some of the comments on here.

He should have been on at half time. If he’s stormed off down the tunnel that’s fine by me. Shows he gives a **** which is more than can be said for most of them today.
Re: Barnes
Do we actually know that he’s stormed off? Maybe he’s got the squits.

Re: Barnes
No idea what happened but he should have started the game if Dervişoğlu wasn't fancied. He'd have provided as much of a platform as Tella did and he'd have provided some nous and physicality when we were defending our box. The one thing Barnes isn't is a player who gets bullied.

It's not even reported, at least not by Sky.vAll that was reported was he went down the tunnel looking frustrated.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 3:13 pmIf Barnes has walked out as reported, that’s him done. Inexcusable.

Re: Barnes
It is
Look, if (and its a big if!) Barnes has walked down the tunnel during the game because he's not being bought on then that is completely inexcusable
No ifs, no buts, that would be him finished here for me
Even though I'd have bought him on!
Re: Barnes
Tbf it must be humiliating for a pro to be stripped off and told to sit back down.
From sitting in the Bob Lord he's looked like the model professional this year. Like he's accepted he isn't going to feature much, always encouraging and having a laugh with the other lads etc.

Re: Barnes
Just not true. Give some credit to the opposition. Our players had nothing left 'in the tank' in that second half. They knew it and exploited it.

Re: Barnes
Drink driving incident aside, I’ve nothing but respect for Barnes and his time at Burnley.
He’s been great and by all accounts a positive influence on and off the pitch.
The deep desire by a number on this board of always needing to have players to target negatively is one of the most depressing aspects of this forum.
Murics getting it today.
Roberts has been a frequent target this year, as has Barnes.
For me Barnes has credit in the bank, even if he has had a red mist moment today.

Re: Barnes
Clearly instructed to break into the Sheffield United dressing room and take a dump in the showers.
In fairness, I have sympathy if he’s stripped off ready then not used, whilst three others are brought on.

Re: Barnes
Perhaps we’re all jumping to conclusions. I don’t understand why people are criticising him so much, they have very short memories.

Re: Barnes
Its not about short memories, its about squad discipline and the managers authority
Its still not confirmed, but if he has walked down the tunnel, and he's done it without permission, then that is a serious breach of club discipline
You can't let players get away with that (and its still an "If")

Re: Barnes
Not the Sky commentary I was listening to!
They said he walked down the tunnel looking frustrated.
Hardly storming out of the ground!
Re: Barnes
They didn't say he'd walked out
They were joking that he'd probably gone for a pee
See how things get twisted

Re: Barnes
I lot of ‘ifs’ on this thread. Barnes could have gone down the tunnel for a hundred different reasons, most with VK’s blessing.
