Accessing the ground
Access to parts of Belvedere Road and Harry Potts Way will be restricted with Burnley supporters needing to use alternative pedestrian access routes which are described below and highlighted on the map.
https://media-cdn.incrowdsports.com/026 ... ef39c9.jpg
From the town centre
If approach from the town centre along Yorkshire Street, you will need to follow the below routes depending on which stand you are sat in.
BOB LORD and UTILITA JIMMY MCIILORY stands please use the alternative route along Todmorden Road and Helena Street.
BARNFIELD CONSTRUCTION (home end) and NORTH please use the route via Albert Street and Ridge Way.
From the east
Fans approaching from the east along Brunshaw Road should access all stands except the Bob Lord Stand via the car park entrance near the Clarets Store at the east end of the ground.
The Bob Lord Stand can be accessed from the east side of Harry Potts Way.
From the north
Fans approaching from the north along Belvedere Road should access all stands via Ormerod Yard.
Increased safety measures
Increased safety and security measures will be in place to reduce anti-social behaviour. This will include enhanced search procedures at the turnstiles. Entry to the stadium will be refused to those who refuse to be searched, as it is a condition of entry.
Supporters should be advised that additional risk mitigation measures have been introduced within the Barnfield Construction Stand including the installation of a ‘segregation net’ between the visiting and home supporter seating areas. This has been introduced following the increase in the throwing of objects across the segregation line.
Any supporter identified throwing objects, will be robustly dealt with by the club and Lancashire Police, with lengthy stadium bans and football banning orders issued.
Arrival
Due to the additional safety measures and the road closures to pedestrians we ask that you arrive at your designated turnstile entrance in adequate time to gain access. Turnstiles will be open from 11am. Please be seated by 12:15pm.
No smoking
Please note, Turf Moor is a strictly no smoking venue and this includes the use of electronic cigarettes. We do provide smoking enclosures in each stand which are available for use at half-time.
Alcohol sales in the Barnfield Construction Stand
For this fixture, the sale of alcohol pre-match will be limited to two drinks per transaction in the Barnfield Construction Stand. No alcohol sales will be made in this stand once the game has kicked off, including half-time.
Thank you for your cooperation.
STADIUM INFORMATION
Harry Potts Way will be closed from 10:30am.
Entry to turnstiles for supporters will open at 11am for both home and visiting supporters.
Please bring photo ID with you as this may be checked as part of our standard ticketing policy.
We will be serving food and beverages on all concourses and will only be accepting cashless methods of payment.
Alcohol-free lager and cider will also be served in all concourses and hospitality areas.

Enhanced search procedures.... They'll need to be, I've never been searched once at turf Moor in over 50 yrs
Re: Info for Sunday

All seems a bit contrived to me but none of it is a big deal.
Re: Info for Sunday
Wonder if this also applies to the away section?

I think it is very poor of the club to release this information with a typo showing the name of Jimmy Mcllroy spelt incorrectly.

Re: Info for Sunday
Can never get served anyway due to the staff being seemingly unable to pre-pour pints.
Re: Info for Sunday
Really unsure why your choice of seat should dictate if you can or can’t drink or not. Can see the club making a right P*ss up in a brewery over Sunday (except in the Cricketfield!)
Re: Info for Sunday
The club and the police I should say.
The ‘map’ just moves the ‘problem’ of away fans stood a few yards up the road
This bizarre suggestion of closing the pubs will leave thousands of Burnley fans stood on the street, which I think makes trouble more likely
No serving beer in the CFS will just encourage people to drink more pre-match
Hardly off to a great start are they?
Re: Info for Sunday
I'm fairly sure that any groups of home fans will be moved away from the closed off area.Tuddybfc wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 3:57 pmThe club and the police I should say.

They are serving beer in the CFS but not at ht.
The pubs aren't closing after the game. They have been asked to either close their front door and control entry via the rear door or to staff the front door and only allow regulars/people with home tickets.
Easy to criticise. What would you suggest they should do?

I’d suggest serving as usual in the CFS, as I say I think it’ll encourage to people to drink more pre-matchLeisure wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 4:04 pmI'm fairly sure that any groups of home fans will be moved away from the closed off area.

I think it’s safer for the away fans to congregate on one side of Harry Potts Way as is often the case (with coaches acting as somewhat of an additional barrier) as opposed to that congregation occurring at the top of the road
The pubs, let’s see how it goes, I’ve seen other posters on here saying they will be ignoring the requests regardless
Re: Info for Sunday
If they drink excessively pre-match they then run the risk of not getting in.Tuddybfc wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 4:10 pmI’d suggest serving as usual in the CFS, as I say I think it’ll encourage to people to drink more pre-match

Keeping fans away from each other after the game and not allowing them to congregate seems very sensible to me.
Not sure just how someone can ignore the request of door staff to show them your ticket? No ticket, no entry.

Re: Info for Sunday
I don't think people will need any encouragement to drink more pre match people will stay out from Saturday night or get up very very early to start drinking.
The problem not serving beer at half time to either sets of fans means your encouraging them all to stay in there seats with nothing to do except wind each other up and goad each other. At least if both sets of fans are underneath having a beer there out of the way

I truly do not understand why alcohol seems to be an integral part of going to a game of football for some people.

Thanks for the info Leisure
Frankly it seems like the authorities have done a reasonable job of managing the situation as best they can. Damned if they do, damned if they don't really. I just hope people can behave themselves. Not holding my breath mind...

Each to their own but a few pints with friends pre and post match is all part of the day for me. At times in recent years it’s been more fun than the actual football.Middle-agedClaret wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 5:14 pmI truly do not understand why alcohol seems to be an integral part of going to a game of football for some people.

Me too, but personally I'm really not that arsed about having a beer before noon on a Sunday, but as you say, each to their own.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 5:42 pmEach to their own but a few pints with friends pre and post match is all part of the day for me. I'll have one or 2 after the game to hopefully celebrate a great win

We should show a video of burnnley and Blackburn’s players that died in the war to show that for all our tribalism we are basically the same , in terms of culture , regionality and family

The East Lancs Regiment raised a total of 17 battalions; it was awarded 61 battle honours and 4 Victoria Crosses, losing 7,000 men during the course of the war.

It was the only net Rovers could find so they took it back with them on the coach. Now being used on Brereton’s yacht to catch the odd tiddler.
