It’s a really odd one this. On one hand their lot are delighted with being 3rd in the league, but on the other hand they seemingly have not been enjoying or being impressed by what they are seeing. It’s definitely this zero draws anomaly that’s keeping them there at the moment IMOclaretbob wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 2:04 pmI can still see Rovers challenging the playoffs if Diaz stays fit and in form. Their first 50mins was decent enough and far from our 2001 shambles. By the end they were completely humiliated which made the whole experience so wonderful but I agree with those who point the finger at their delusional fans for thinking they should somehow be doing better than third place. Bizarre!

Re: BRFCS fans forum ....
I do not get all this decent first half stuff.
It reminds me of when we played Man City away under Dyche in the later years, under the cosh, hardly laying a glove on them, knowing it was only a matter of time until they carved us open, which at times was in the 2nd half.
The Rovers performance reminded me of that. We had a good excuse - they were City away, but Rovers fans must be fuming to play like that against us.

I'd be fuming too. I bet most of them went home and kicked the dog. Sorry, I mean 'horse'.

There is a gulf in class between the teams.

I think I am right in saying that this is only the fifth time we have beaten Rovers by at least three clear goals at Turf Moor in 134 years of league football……three of those five occasions were over 100 years ago and the last time was 1963!

I honestly don't care what their fans views on the game were; only the score. However, had it been us that put on a performance like theirs I wouldn't have said it was a poor performance but more a non-performance.

Re: BRFCS fans forum ....
They were so worried about being skinned alive by Zaroury and Benson that they barely ventured out of their own half. They are consoling themselves that this was nowhere near as bad for them as a match was for us over 20 years ago! Well that was then, and this is now!
Re: BRFCS fans forum ....
Winning half your games and losing the rest might get you near the top when it’s 3 points for a win but under the old 2 points for a win system, Rovers would be in mid table. Sometimes, I think the 3 points for a win gives a false impression of a team’s true league position based on ability.

We just spent the first half wearing them out. Apart from Bramall Lane, it's what we do.

All the Rovers fans I know have talked about their tactics… I pointed out to impose their tactics first they needed to have the ball. Second half they were knackered from chasing shadows all first half. It wasn’t about them.

Just chatted to my Rovers supporting neighbour, after giving it large all week, he was that confident he watched the T20 cricket instead…

Instead? It finished an hour before kick off - we all watched it in the fanzoneelwaclaret wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 9:17 pmJust chatted to my Rovers supporting neighbour, after giving it large all week, he was that confident he watched the T20 cricket instead…

The very same lot who hounded out Keane when he got them to third in the Championship. They don't seem to like successJohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 4:27 pmThat was a very interesting and entertaining read. Surprised at the levels of animosity towards their current manager who has guided them to 3rd and to Mowbray, who speaking as a bystander, seemed to have done quite well for them

We didn't play each other at all for a 17 year stretch on that 35 year barren spellCrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 10:52 pmGot to feel for them.
We had 35 years without a win, they are on 12, so 23 more years to go

Definitely in the 2nd half... can't believe how high Blackburn is in the table considering how poor they looked. They could finish in the top 6 if they keep winning these games rather than draw them.
Honestly without the venkys, the club would be in even more trouble. While they aren't really upgrading their personnel, the venkys have absorbed a lot of debt, and just seem content to put enough money in the club to field a squad and keep the lights on.
Honestly, if the do manage to get promoted, I think the venkys will take that PL TV money and run... and sell the team to somone else.

Take what money? They will need to sell for more than £200 million to clear the amount they have put into the club...AshevilleNCClaret wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 11:55 pmDefinitely in the 2nd half... can't believe how high Blackburn is in the table considering how poor they looked. Sorry, didn't clarify. I think they would need ALL of the TV deal PL money (plus any parachute payments) to put a dent into that 200 million....ClaretPete001 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 12:00 amTake what money? so maybe recoup about 100ish million of the 200 ?

I'd like Blackburn to go up as runners-up to us, with PNE winning the playoffs. Two teams who would go down next year, making it easier for us to stay up.
