Zaroury !!!
Convinced this lad is lad is one of the best players in the world.
I haven't seen a better player capable of doing what he does.
Speed, trickery, phenomenal crossing , a genuine wing wizard.
I have never seen a better player in our colours in his role, and I seriously believe he is world class.
In addition, there are players in our squad that are regularly displaying intricate skills, incredible flicks and passes and all wrapped up in a very attack minded play. Yes its the championship, but nevertheless we have some truly brilliant players.

Mahrez mk II
Very bright future. Let’s hope we keep him: we might even win the premier league

obviously we wont keep him , but whilst it lasts is quite beautiful to behold.
Can't see us keeping Vincent Kompany for too long either, but same applies. Best to make the most of it for the time being.

Re: Zaroury !!!
That cross for the first today was absolutely beautiful and the way he stayed so calm and made the finish for the second look so easy also showed real class. On the match ratings thread someone (Spiceclaret I think) comments that he scored that goal at Sunderland with his right foot but delivered that cross today with his left......I mean that's pretty special ! Is shaping up to be the best signing in my lifetime ...I mean it's ridiculous that we picked him uo for under £4m when you see his quality.
As an added attribute...I mean additional to pace, trickery, touch, two-footedness, workmate, vision and finishing ability...he also seems to be physically robust. His legs/calves look particularly strong and athletic.

Our side this season reminds me of Leicester’s title winning side with Mahrez and Knockaert. I can see Zaroury following Mahrez to the top of the game.
Re: Zaroury !!!
Personally, I don't really see the similarity with Mahrez, other than they are v good footballers. Zaroury is more like Grealish (at his age) in style. The most two footed player I have ever seen. Perhaps lacks a turn of pace for the very very top level but I love watching him play. I'm probably too old to have favourite players that aren't Ben Mee but, sod it, he is the absolute business!

Most importantly seems like a great bloke. Hopefully he wants to stay and have a crack at the PL with us if we manage to get promoted this year. Same goes for VK. It would be great to see what this team can evolve into at that level.

Also don’t see any similarities with Mahrez, other than his North African heritage, despite seeing that comparison numerous times on here. Great player though. His end product is fantastic, great balance and also has a superb football brain. I would find it hard to make a case that he’s not an upgrade on McNeil.
Re: Zaroury !!!
Left foot, right foot, it doesn’t matter.
He’s an extremely talented player that could quite literally have the world at his feet.

Re: Zaroury !!!
I'll be honest, I was a huge fan of Sean Dyche, and with the takeover I was extremely sceptical about virtually everything.
It all feels like a whirlwind since VK was appointed, but I am staggered at the transition.
New owners, new manager and a brand new team in essence, and somehow an entire set up has clicked within a few short weeks.
It should have taken ages, but it hasn't.
Difficult to know who to credit for unearthing the talent on display at the Turf thesedays, but what an achievement .

Zaroury and Benson. My word. Never did I think we would have talent like this. They are amazing the pair of them and absolutely terrorise the oppostion. If we got £25m for McNeil, what on earth are these two lads worth??

Just turned 22 and on a 4 year deal. Reminds me of John Connelly and that iis high praise indeed. Undisclosed fee but can’t imagine it was a fortune. Let’s not burn him out and keep him fit. Remember he is only 22 !!

Been saying the same. Sad when McNeil left, but this lad is twice the player. Two footed, much more pace, and stronger. Certainly an upgrade and completely out of the blue.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 11:37 pmAlso don’t see any similarities with Mahrez, other than his North African heritage, despite seeing that comparison numerous times on here. A really special footballer.
It is not beyond the realms to say that this lad could well be in the Euro 2024 squad for Belgium, and playing for a club in the Premier League's top 6.
His ceiling is massive - we need to enjoy him whilst he's here.

Re: Zaroury !!!
It's his first touch that makes him so good but I've noticed that so many of the players we have signed have an incredible first touch. Benson, Maatsen, Vitinho, Tella all have that gift and it certainly gives them that extra second to avoid a tackle or beat a man. Whoever is coaching them is doing a very good job. Long may they play in the Claret & Blue of Burnley.
Re: Zaroury !!!
When you think we’ve already got Churlinov and Twine to boost the creativity in this squad it is truly amazing.
The pace and skill this squad has compared to this time last year.

Interesting to note that Emi Buendia cost Aston Villa £38m after having a good season in the Championship with Norwich City (15 goals and 16 assists) a couple of years ago…..

You can't coach skill it comes naturally or every footballer would possess it. These are the type of players we are looking to sign these days, young fellas with natural talent

For some comparison and context on the shrewd, savvy signings we made last summer...
Those two lumps up top for Rovers yesterday cost the best part of £12,000,00. Brereton-Diaz is out of contract, they'll get nowt for him, and Gallagher is late twenties and couldn't hit a barn door.

Zaroury and benson are a bit of a joke at this level. They genuinely beat their man 10 times a game it looks stupid.
I wonder what churlinov will be like whether he is similar. I think twine is a more technical less athletic type so maybe plays the brownhill role?

Re: Zaroury !!!
From what I saw of Churlinov he’s more physical, perhaps more comfortable centrally taking the ball between the lines but also very good at dribbling. Really liked the look of him.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 1:26 pmZaroury and benson are a bit of a joke at this level. They genuinely beat their man 10 times a game it looks stupid.

Twine can play anywhere across the front, from the left drifting in, or in the Brownhill role mainly. More technical, not as quick but quality at finding spaces, receiving the ball between the lines and shooting.

I've always loved watching our attacking wingers over the decades, whether it was the sheer skill of Dave Thomas, the bludgeoning style of Steve Kindon or the trickery of David Ayres, among lots of others .
Now it looks as we've got a couple more, a great pair to enjoy. Both shone yesterday, so here's to many more performances like them.

Defo seen Blake smash in crosses with that - was it Wolves / Gareth Taylor header, boxing day?
Really two footed, unreal balance etc.

Re: Zaroury !!!
This is why scouting and knowledge of the game plays dividends.
Every year a new crop comes through and there are gifted players world wide.
To be trotting out very passed it Aaron Lennon & an out of position Erik Pieters on the wings as a PL outfit was quite frankly poor from Dyche and co.
I criticised McNeil for his one footedness and how I didn’t think he was any part a Pl player or even a half decent championship player - signings like Benson and Zaroury confirm that belief… He just couldn’t do anything like what these lads can do, the ability to go both ways and pass/trap/shoot/cross with both feet is an excellent attribute to have.
As for keeping Kompany - there aren’t many clubs that would give him free reign like we have done and we’re paying him handsomely.
IF we go up and do half decent I genuinely see the fairytale continuing until Pep leaves City who would probably see Kompany (or Arteta) as a natural replacement.
Fantastic time to be a Claret!

Re: Zaroury !!!
I said at the start of the season that VK had already earned his first year's salary for identifying, bidding and then personally influencing players to join a club that had just been relegated. At the time I was thinking of THB, Muric,Twine, Tella, Egan Riley, McNally . I did not know too much about the rest of the recruits but Benson, Zaroury and Beyer have all been excellent-again all three joined us largely because of VK. The team spirit VK has generated makes me think, particularly if we get promoted that some of the key loans would seriously consider signing with us
