Multi millionaire, multi award winning tv presenters.
If you think they are talentless then you’re setting a high barometer.

Can’t say I watch any of their programmes, but they’re obviously very good at what they do.

Re: Ant & Dec
Really?
To have the career they have had, over such a long period, does not happen to a couple of “talentless no marks”
Do you really want to be comparing CVs with them?
You or I probably would not last five minutes on live tv.

Don't begrudge them creaming a living from TV, but what multi awards?...oh yeah, the TV industry self backslapping awards!arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 9:19 pmMulti millionaire, multi award winning tv presenters.

Awards which the great, celebrity obsessed, British public vote for. They certainly have a talent for being able to con people into thinking that they are talented. No Ney Never wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 9:24 pmDon't begrudge them creaming a living from TV, but what multi awards?...oh yeah, the TV industry self backslapping awards!

They are hardly going to win awards from the Institute of Chartered Physicists or the Association of Bodyshop Repair Professionals are they?No Ney Never wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 9:24 pmDon't begrudge them creaming a living from TV, but what multi awards?...oh yeah, the TV industry self backslapping awards!

Re: Ant & Dec
You may not like them or their humour but they evidently aren’t talentless. Live TV is not easy and to do it as often as they have over such a period is impressive. And clearly people like them or they wouldn’t still be getting these gigs. Bitterness is not a nice trait.

Re: Ant & Dec
I’ve always quite liked them but just lately they have begun to get on my nerves a little because they have swallowed the hype that they are funny. The attempts at humour on Celebrity are a little embarrassing. They are excellent at what they do (and are certainly not ‘talentless’) but they need to forget the attempts at Morecambe and Wise, it’s just not working.

Can honestly say I've never watched anything they've been on. From what I'm picking up they have an appeal for those who watch junk TV.

Similar approach to player transfers. Like the O'Hare link. Plenty the other night saying we shouldn't sign him because we don't need another winger!arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 10:50 pmNever watched but happy to offer an opinion and refer to it as junk tv.

Re: Ant & Dec
I’ve never really watched anything they’ve done. But I’ve seen snippets of them at work.
They seem a like couple of talented lads, but they are involved in programs I’m not at all interested in.
I get the feeling they’re a Morecambe and Wise tribute act, which isn’t a bad thing.
They must be doing something right, fair play to them.

Re: Ant & Dec
Clearly very talented but also their humour (incredibly cheesy) is clearly not for everyone.

Wasn’t there a family from Burnley on the Saturday night takeaway? Won a holiday to oz I think

Re: Ant & Dec
They’re actually great at what they do and give their audience exactly what it wants. Not everybody has to be Carl Sagan explaining the wonders of the universe or Stewart Lee delivering a thirty minute satirical monologue.

So you'd say I was wrong to suggest hours of watching the likes of Matt Hancock eating gibbon placenta etc may be junk TV?arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 10:50 pmNever watched but happy to offer an opinion and refer to it as junk tv.

Find them entertaining and appealing to simpletons like myself
Re: Ant & Dec
There’s much, much worse than them on tv. My wife recently retired and watches daytime tv every day. It drives me crazy.
First it’s 2 early morning presenters asking politicians questions then vying with each other to interrupt and get screen time before 3 words have left the politicians mouth.
Then there’s an annoying Sweaty simpering and gurning at various no mark guests for an hour.
At 10 am it’s time for a gimlet eyed narcissist and his “look there’s a camera, I must slip into my empty head persona” side kick.
After a couple of hours of that it’s time for 4 shrieking harpies, screaming smutty innuendo. A scene from McBeth every lunchtime.
Interspersed throughout this is a relentless drive to get you to chase an impossible dream through the use of premium rate phone lines.
Fortunately a this point there’s a welcome break for the news before 4 hours of game shows.
Don’t tell me how bad 2 geordies are when faced with this shite every day.

I don't see the issue with these cheeky chaps, and it's great that they've made something of themselves despite growing up in a disadvantaged area.
