Flu & covid jabs

Post by No Ney Never » Wed Nov 23, 2022 7:48 pm

I've received my invite for another covid booster.
I also had one from my GP for a flu jab.
I'll do the covid but don't think I'll bother with the flu.
Last time I had one it took me 18 months before I felt fully over it.
Never had an issue with the covid.

Had both a couple of Weeks ago ... I blame one of them (not sure which) for feeling **** the weekend of the Rovers match sore throat and hacking cough ... over it now ... just missed the best match of the season 😠.

We (the Mrs and I) have never had any issue with Cov either or Flu since having the jabs over the past few years aoarr from this one ... just that damned Cough (although the wife no problems).

I would say have both if you are offered them.

Flu gave a week not feeling great. Flu/covis 3 days apart similarly, for my partner.

Good to see Flu and colds must be back.

They seemed to disappear for a couple of years.

The Mrs and I got fly 3 weeks ago, now got post viral fatigue. Should have had the flu jab.
Dragged myself to the Blackburn game but took me 3 days to get enough energy to go to the shop for basics.
I seriously hate viruses.

That probably had something to do with people taking much stricter precautions whilst trying to avoid a different virus

I've had both a few weeks back. 'They' say that this version of flu could be quite nasty. Not sure why anyone would have one but not the other.

I've had all my covid jabs, and I have my flu jab every year.
Never had a problem with any of them, but speaking to other people, it might be better not to have both at the same time. Leave a week between them.

Not sure if this is happening in the UK but I received an SMS telling me I'd been a close contact and to get a self check done. I'd been at a gig 5 days earlier but my name wasn't on the ticket so I was dubious. This week I received another telling me to contact a website for a MANDATORY(their capitals) covid test. As I hadn't been out for a week I knew this one was a scam. Probably want me to phone an exorbitant chatline. Feck em, they know where I live.
I've now had 5 covid jabs in total and this Winters flu jab and I had a dreadful flu. Sods law.

After my brother was hospitalised a couple of weeks ago with flu, I had both my jabs straight away.
As said above this 'season's' flu is very nasty.
Had no side effects whatsoever - unlike my 3rd Covid jab which made me feel a little rough for a couple of days.

Had them both, just a bit achy for a day after covid but ten times better then getting it for real, flu nearly hospitalised me a few years ago, since then I get my jab as soon as they are out, flu is a killer make no mistake about that.

Had flu and Covid inoculations together this year, same as 12 months earlier. This time had a reaction for 3 days. Hadn’t happened before. No idea which one that got me.

I had both jabs together on the day of the Rotherham game and came down shortly after with flu like symptoms and still have hacking cough. But who knows whether I would have had the same illness if I had not had the jabs.

In my experience, the Covid jab has must ‘heavier’ side effects than the flu one. Usually out of commission for the next 24 hours after Covid jab but usually feel little to no side effects after the flu one. I thought docs were recommending not to get both together? Could be wrong. Though I heard it can really knock you for six if you do.

Went for my covid booster early in November and was offered a flu jab at the same time - so had both together. In and out of the surgery in less than 10 minutes

My arm ached for a couple of days and I felt a bit more tired than usual but as others have said got to be better than the alternative

Have had 4 Pfizer Cov jabs now over the oast 2 years ... 2 with the Flu Vacc (last year and this) ... this last vacc has been the 1st time I have had a reaction to any vacc in my life (assuming it was down to the vacc that is) ... It has dissuaded me and will continue to get the vacc (Cov Flu) when offered ... a few days of a hacking cough better than the alternative 😏

I'm under 40 and have had no letters or texts to say that I should get a Covid jab.
Is that how it works, or have I neglected to sign up to something I should have?

I'm actually beginning to wonder if the Covid jabs are fake. I've had 4 jabs including "boosters" and 4 helpings of positive tests for C19, 2 of which I didn't even know I was ill !!!

Depending on where you're travelling I suppose ... but we did a "round Britain" cruise with Fred Olsen and proof all the covid jabs + boosters were a requirement of travel in September

It’s just over 50s and the medically ‘vulnerable’ eligible for the COVID winter booster.

Got the Covid booster tomorrow and a month ago had the flu jab then a week later caught the flu at the Norwich game, missed the subsequent last minute winners :(

Despite having had the flu jab a week before (takes 2 weeks to fully work) I had a 39.5 temperature for 4 days. Still not 100% now. Felt a bit hairy at one point. Was fine catching Covid 3 months ago but that flu was a bad un.

So get the jabs would be my advice.

I decided to have flu jab, then wait a couple of weeks for my next covid jab. A few days after flu jab, felt sh#te - blamed the flu jab, but coincidentally found an LFT kit in a drawer from a while ago so thought I’d give it a go, and yep, it turned positive!!! Bugger- covid finally got me!!!

But all ok now!!!!

Won't be having another Covid booster unless I'm forced and I wish I didn't have one in the first place because Phfizer said they had done trial on mice and then put it out on the market without testing on humans , and they then said it was a race against science.

Which is what they do with flu jabs. They don’t need to do big trials on humans when it’s a slight variant of a vaccine that has undergone full medical trials. Besides, the vaccine is now in million of humans.

Which is what they do with flu jabs. They don’t need to do big trials on humans when it’s a slight variant of a vaccine that has undergone full medical trials. Besides, the vaccine is now in million of humans.
Phfizer said they had done trial's on humans which they lied to in court when asked about this they said it was a race against time. So they basically told lie's and couldn't answer the questions put to them .
