That was more like assault than a foul

Should they not have checked the offside?

Can’t stand wales , particularly the tiresome romanticisation the bbc generate over a gaggle of hicks in bucket hats

It’s like a kids game. 1 player gets the ball runs and shoots. Repeat.

Justice. Well done Iran, especially with the stress the players must be under, their former teammate arrested yesterday.

Re: Wales v Iran
Well deserved.
Wales did well to qualify, and needed to raise their game for the tournament, and they just haven't.
Too many individuals just looked no where near good enough.

Re: Wales v Iran
They’ve been very poor Wales. Some very negative play going forward. Bale offers nothing.

Abject showing, from Wales.
Re: Wales v Iran
This could make the group interesting if England beat USA. England will qualify and Wales will need to beat us to have a chance.

Re: Wales v Iran
2-0 is a fair reflection of the play, Iran look a decent side on the evidence of today, particularly the 2nd half.
Iran-USA could well be a KO game in all but name.

Joe Allen has probably had better 5 minute spells in his career.

If I was welsh I’d be furious with Bale. Biggest game for over 60 years and he doesn’t turn up.

Re: Wales v Iran
Beat USA tonight and we are through so that means we can weigh up whether to play reserves against Wales. Finishing 2nd behind Iran may be the best route, that will be made clearer by the Wales match. Hard to see Iran getting past us on GD though.
Re: Wales v Iran
Bale should not even be in the Welsh squad. Just because he was once one of the best players in the world doesn't mean he justifies a place in the team.
Re: Wales v Iran
Maybe Iran aren't that bad afer all.
It's coming home.

Re: Wales v Iran
Wales second best all over the pitch. It’s alright carrying a player on reputation, if that player delivers a moment of magic. I thought Bale was poor against USA, he just happened to score the penalty.

Re: Wales v Iran
I think both teams knew they had to win it, but Page gambled on Ramsey and Bale having a moment of brilliance, and they were completely anonymous, and eventually 11 v 9 told
Felt for Joe Allen though, asked to come on to somehow hold a huge hole in the midfield, and hasn't played for months, and it showed

Re: Wales v Iran
Are you assuming England beat the USA? That is brave, history is not on England’s side and the USA will cause England problems.
